I was wondering if a any of you guys had any recomendations
Darkfall has a $/€1 trial and Mortal Online is in open beta and free to try right now so I'd say try those two out.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Mortal Online needs some serious fixes if its going to be ready for release.. buggy as and lag is a massive issue.
Darkfall's been out for over a year now so its stable. However, its hard to get into a game where so many people stats are through the roof.. For the first 3 months, dont expect to win any pvp fights unless you fight a noob at your own level..
Any other ideas? Like maybe aion? any opinions on aion?
Personally I like Aion. but some find it too frustrating and if they've come from games that have easier leveling they feel it's a grind. Still, it's leveling doesn't rival the more hardcore grind games.
The problem is that you might want to join a legion in order to get the most out of your pvp buck.
The second probleme is that it seems to have keep flipping whihc I'm not convinced is the best way to do it. I understand it gives differnet legions a chance to own a keep but in the end players tend to get tired of it. They should have had it like Lineage 2 where you get to hold a keep for longer.
More pride in ownership.
Or... you can try Lineage 2. I think it's one of the best out there. But it is rather a hardcore game, even with some of its recent changes and you would definitely need to join a clan.

So it would appear they are balanced. However, is that the balance for active subs or just for subs created?
And even if it is for active subs that doesn't mean that everyone plays the exact same amount. You can see "50/50" but perhaps 10 % of one side doesn't play that much and 20% of another doesn't play that much.

Aion has considerable issues. Keep flipping being one of the key ones as your "end game" is really quite dull as you just keep attacking the same keeps over and over for no real purpose as you don't even have true "ownership" of the keep, you just get a silly little banner. Couple that with the bot issues and the fact that there is a 50% chance the client will just not like your computer for some reason and give crytek32.dll errors still and you have a major problem. The leveling bit is also quite linear.
Darkfall is interesting, and they've brought the mechanics to be pretty decent, though static housing is a bit lame. However Darkfall's biggest issue is that everyone can be a master of everything given enough time since there are no skill caps, and the community is a cesspool. You will not find a higher concentration of overly selfimportant mandchildren at the helm of the major alliances.
Unfortunately, not a ton out there that does PvP well. There's always some major flaw in the works keeping it from being remotely fun in just about any available game so far /=. Here's hoping for the future I guess.

Is aion's population pretty balanced?
One look at the official server statistics on the main site will clearly tell you No. 99% of servers are completely one-sided.
OP you might want to check out Fallen Earth. The game has a huge focus on crafting, questing and a unique form of faction based PVP.
The next major patch is expanding and fleshing out the current pvp system. Eventually there will be player housing, fighting over towns and resources..ect and working for your faction.
Its a very deep game, but not as pvp centric as say WAR or Darkfall. It is still worth playing, especially as it continues to develop.

Well, I did post the official server stats. At least I think these are them:
I would love to find a well balanced pvp game. I did WOW for 1 1/2 years. At first it was tremendous fun. Actually at lower lvls(below 80) it still can be, but at 80 theres now too much gear difference between a new 80 and well geared 80, a difference of 4k, so your going to endure lots of beatings before you can get to midiocre. lol
So please if you do find something on your own, let the rest of us know.
P.S.
I also got tired of the grinding both for gold and for gear. I loved the Battlegrounds, but due to added snares and stuns, it has become too frostrating and also with the added gear at 80, makes it very dificult to do well unless your well geared. Another problem is off balance realms, it seems that most realms are overly dominated by the alliance, so you end up fighting against many, which means no joy. lol

Guild Wars, though not on my favorites list, has some of the most balanced PvP in my experience and I've played or am playing everything else suggested above. Also you can get into it almost right away so you can try it and not waste a lot of time figuring out if it is your cup of tea.
Also agree with what has been said of DF in general above and Fallen Earth. Fallen Earth is also quite balanced for PvP. DF it actually matters so that is fun, but not everyone enjoys having to worry about the sound of footsteps like I do.
Aion has some interesting PvP mechanics that you might enjoy. Rifting - The other faction can come into your territory in limited numbers at limited times and attempt gank or be ganked. As far as the balance with rifting goes, it is not as simple as the open PvP area. It only takes one person complaining in regional chat for the posse to get up or to get a gate camp going. Also, just takes one person getting gate camped to get a squad together and roll the camp and roll through the zone. I've been on both sides of these equations and they are all pretty fun imo.
I have other reasons to not like it but they are well covered in the Aion forum if you are interested.
