MMORPG.com's Jon Wood uses this week's column to announce his new position as head of Procrastination Studios, and reveals some of the details of the new MMO they are working on.
Well folks the day has finally arrived. As of today, I have decided to leave MMORPG.com to officially take the wheel of the ship that is my very own MMO development office, Procrastination Studios.
Procrastination has actually been up and running for close to a year now, having actually quietly started pre-production on a game that I've wanted to make for years now. It's called Lands of Oberon, and before anyone starts in on me about genre, yes it IS another fantasy game. Let's face it. Fantasy is what people know, it's what sells.
Some of you may be sitting there reading this wondering how I managed to raise the capital to start my own MMO studio. Well, I have a confession to make. After working for five years as a top MMORPG site, I will say this: It certainly pays to have "positive" opinions where generous MMO studios are involved.
As the owner of the company, I am free to discuss the details of some of the features that we’ve already got going:

These "fake news" April Fool's Day posts get worse every year. I don't think I even chuckled once with this one.
Maybe the fact that I find Mr. Wood's "articles" here to be pretty bland/useless, andthat I wouldn't be bothered by his "moving on" played a role in my response. Ah well.
Actually the game sounds good (except the races - giants???) and the death penalty sounds good

While I read this article I had the TV on and there was a show about the origins of Aprils fool but I must admit that I still fell for it

Sorry we have no screenshots because our artists are to buisy polishing the game for tommorows launch.
Aparently they will be letting in beta testers at the rate of one every 7 years who have paide a preorder fee of $100,000,000 us. The first tester has been confirmed as Richard Garriot who was seen with Mr Wood recently in orbit.
That would be awesome if there really was a studio called Procrastination Studios. I would defiantly work there!
P.S. I like the link that takes you the calender and shows you what day it is. Nice add-on. I applaud you for creativity.

Really? Because at first I was sure it was an April Fool's joke but when I read how he got the capital I thought "Wow surprising honesty for once, I guess this is for real. Guess I was right about why there were so many STO articles when the game was clearly garbage"
But I guess every April Fool's joke has to have a piece of truth to really be effective.
