Paragon Studios has announced today the future of the City of Heroes/Villains franchise: City of Sidekicks! City of Sidekicks will not be about "Saving the Day" as a hero, instead, players will be captured by criminals.
A key element of sidekick storylines is their uncanny ability to screw up things for the real heroes, and as a result players in City of Sidekicks will level up by, well, screwing up! The closer to failure you get -- the better your reward!
City of Sidekicks will also introduce a new dodge mechanic, which allows players to actively dodge things that might "wound or kill your character." Bonus points are awarded if you manage to quip while dodging as well, Manage to dodge a cannon ball and yell "Not the face!" at the same time? Bonus points! Huzzah!
However, should you feel to dodge the attacks, your character will be faced with serious consequences, up to and including permanent death. That's right baby, Paragon Studios is going hardcore! Your death will not be determined by your own fate, though, it will be left up to the game's community. If your character is faced with certain death, the development team will instantly poll the entire game to find out whether the community thinks you should live or die.
City of Sidekicks is scheduled to launch on April 1st, 2011, with a new expanshalone (standalone expansion), City of Henchmen, to follow six months later.

LOL @ the Jason Todd refernece there :P
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Okay, okay. I know its an obvious April fools joke, but I think it would be pretty fun if they did have something like this.
--------
"Chemistry: 'We do stuff in lab that would be a felony in your garage.'"
The most awesomest after school special T-shirt:
Front: UNO Chemistry Club
Back: /\OH --> Bad Decisions
Oh so close to being epic. If only they hadn't unneccesarily mentioned the release date of April 1st in the announcement people might actually have been fooled for longer than a nanosecond. Nice try though.
Coach Boomer: "Siiiiiiiiiiiiiidekick!"

I was hoping I wasn't the only one who noticed the choice. And a sidekick material doesn't neccesairly sounds bad, it's just finding people to be willing to play the part =P. (trolls anyone?) One can dream anyway >.> April fools.
And the reference is from Skyhigh o.- (at the previous post)
Aprils fool but it still sounds more fun than CoH/CoV...
april foool, but funny
City of Sidekicks? Wasn't that the first choice of names for the DC Universe Online game?
Ding ding ding! Good Ol' Bruce Campbell.

Disney's movie "Sky High"
Best line: Lynda Carter (as Principal Powers) - "I'm not Wonder Woman, you know."
Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. - Marie Curie
It would probably still be better than CO.
lol, it looked too real at first but it's got to be an April Fools, most sidekicks are useless, including Robin from Batman, since seeing the more darker Batman stuff in recent years, I've always thought Batman woked best alone anyway.
One of the perks to having a 10 year-old is that you can watch movies like "Sky High" and admit it. It's still a decent flick.

You've unintentionally created the best game of all time!
Shut yo mouth! City of Heroes is an awesome game.
But I'm waiting for City of Henchmen!!
It was a more obvious April fools joke but it was still a good chuckle. Thanks. :-)

I believe this word should be "fail". Anyway, pretty funny.
Ya ya ya... I guess I would buy that. XD
