- I am on limited monthly internet useage as is common here in Australia. If I install the game from my Villians DVD the patch to update is really big. Too big for now at this time in the month. If I buy the Architect Edition that will give me a more recent version of the game with less updating required? Roughly how big is the download for each of these methods?
- I am assuming that when GR is released digitally it will want me to download a massive update. Am I better off waiting for the physical copy? And, of course, the physical copy is not available here. Is there a US store that has GR on their lists yet for me to order a copy for release?
- And, the fun questions is just how many new power sets can we expect to see? So far we have Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, and (rumor?) Kinetic Melee and Electric Control. Already sounds good but I am hoping for something massive
Thanks!

Kinetic Melee and Electric Control arent rumored, there gonna be in it for sure. SO will the other power sets. No others aside from those that have been spoken of at least. You could buy the architect edition, but the update wil most liekly be quite big still. If you wait for going rogue, there gonna have a complete edition or something like that, not sure wat its called. itll be a hard copy in stores, with the original game and going rogue, 40 dollars USD, and comes with a free month. Id probably wait for that. Comes out with the regular release but not availiable for preorder. Ive been away from the game for over a year and the complete going rogue edition is gonna be the resurection to my account.
MMOs played: Too many
Watch List: FFXIV, CoH:GR, GW2, SWTOR, TERA, Earthrise
Cool...
Now, will adding the Complete Edition give me a month extra on my regular account? I dont want to start a new account and lose my Veteran Rewards and purchased Perks.
Yes it will, you can upgrade your account with it and still get the free month like the other packs, for example, when I played CoH, I bought the good vs evil edition, then the mac edition came out and I bought it so Id get the items with the free month, and it just upgraded to my account

Thankyou mate,
Now all I need to do is wait until July and .... aww heck. I have to wait until July *cries a little*.
EDIT: I am hoping this expansion will bring people back to the slowly-emptying servers. Think it will?
Instead of waiting for july I want to set up my subscription soon. Here's two questions:
Will buying the Architect Edition let me use that as payment for a month on my exisiting account?
Roughly how big is the patch from that? less than a gig?
ty!
Even without closed beta access, one can log into the test server for the coming issue (issue 17) and, at the moment, it is almost a 1 gig download. That may contain some GR data, I dunno. Anyways, you might want that into account since that issue should be out this month, and that content won't be on any physical discs until GR comes out.
Otherwise, can you download the game to a flash or zip drive away from you home network and copy it to your main pc? Might not be an ideal solution, but it could work. Or if you have a friend who plays, copy his/her folder maybe.
Thanks that helps. If the i17 update is 1 gig later in the month I will be ok with that. It's just the size of patching Architect Edition for now that I need to know about.
Anyhow, good help!
EDIT: btw the Architect Edition was a bargain. I got one for $15 AUD - that includes the recent patches on disc, plus a booster pack, plus the month's subscription! yay!
City of Heroes is 2.8 GB, each issue seems to be about 600-800 megs, I17 is going to be massive because of all the changes they are putting into the game and Ultra Mode for graphics.
You can indeed by copies of the game, apply the keys to your account, and then get an extra 30 days game time applied to your account.
ty.
Now, is the game itself that big? Or, the download? If the download is zipped, for example, it doesn't matter to me how big the update is when extracted, only how much counted as internet useage.
When you say "massive" for i17 how big is massive? (I might have to wait until the end of the month. I am hoping i17 is released by then)
Thanks!
The entire game is only 2.8 GB. I'm thinking the update for I17 will be around 1 GB, but it has a lot of stuff in it. Everything from numerous little fixes, to rewritten market code to new missions, the dopleganger system to Ultra Mode graphics.
Now. I have a code to apply. The instructions on the CoH site tell me to "Add serial code" and then pick my account> I am a little worried as I also (thanks to a mistake) have a trial account on the same account.
Can I add the time and bonus pack to "Upgrade Account" on the correct account instead of "use serial code"?
ty!
CoH forums say that there was a 7th April download that may be the patch for i17. I hope so as this is what I am keen to see! The new graphics fixes sound impressive. Even if I have to wait a while to be able to download this big file I am happy.
Also had some fun reading the forums about things like AE farms. It looks like I chose a good time to leave for a while as that sounds pretty boring. I saw a bit of this when I last was active but had no idea it would go on so long.
EDIT: I hear there is a pre-patch that downloads when you exit. Any idea how big please?
2nd EDIT: I need to know when the pre-patch that downloads when you exit becomes a regular patch up-front so I can see what I am downloading.
