Well the graphics are better on the PC. Since the Evequest was first launched things have been upgraded. New character models were added when the Shadows of Luclin expansion was released. The setup of the world is completely different as well. While EQOA on the PS2 just has Tunaria(sp?) which later becomes Antonica that's just one landmass in the game. The original EQ launched with that, that is home to the humans, barbs, darkelves, and halflings and a number of different zones and dungeons. Ranging from low to high level. The High elves, wood elves, dwarfs, and gnomes live on the landmass of Faydwer. Then there is Odus which is home of the Erudians. That's is a lot smaller then the others.

Kunark introduced a new land which is home to the Iskar but also increased the number of areas to go to by 30% I believe. The Velious expansion also introduced another land to explore which is mainly for mid level players to higher ups. Before that everything elses including Kunark was for level 1 to 50. Then enter Shadows of Luclin which made the moon exploreable. It was for levels 1 to 60 I believe. It introduced a lot of zones, as well as the Van Shir as a new character race. It made travel easier since the spries arond Norrath could be used to teleport up to the moon which lead to the Nexus which allow a person to travel back down to different areas. Planes of Power added a whole muber of high Plane areas for 46+ but the Plane of KNowledge is open to everyone and links all of the player cities together. The later expansions are mostly high level ones that added even more zones. Legacy of Yeshka made the Frogloks a playable race and added new additions to the game. Lost Dungeons of Norrath was for the 20+ and it added instance adventures(similar to Anarchy Online's group missions). After them came Gates of Discord and Omens of War I believe. And now Dragons of Norrath

For worrying about which expansions to get. The easiest thing to do is to by Everquest Evolution or Everquest Palatinum. Evolution comes with the original game and all the expansions up to Legacy of Yeshka I believe. Everquest Palatinum goes up to and includes Gates of Discord I think.

Even so, if you get that. You don't have to worry about going out to get the other expansions since you can download them via the update fucntion in the game. Takes some times but you can get them like that and then buy them digitially via Sony Station's online store and added them to your account. Its like that for all the expansions.

If you have a high speed connection and a blank dvd. You can buy Everquest Evolution from www.direct2drive.com for $9.99, it comes with the install and cd key to make or add to your station account, plus the free month(I think).

Graphic wise, it won't be bad for a system. The system requirements are no where near as high as Everquest 2 but the game still looks good though.

thanks! so your saying everquest pc is much bigger than ps2? and in ps2 version, is there a big world to explore, or is it small?

The PC version of Everquest is a lot bigger then the PS2 version. Yup. I don't have a lot of expereince with the PS2 version but what I've been told the PC version is a LOT, LOT bigger.

Oddly enough, if you've been playing the PS2 version of EQ, you've pretty much experienced EQ2.

Now if you want something really good and addictive and the best MMORPG out there... trust your instincts... hook yourself up with Everquest : Platinum, that will give you all 7 of the expansions up to Gates of Discord. Then there are only 2 left, Omens of War and the recently released Dragons of Norrath.

yeah i think that i have decided to get platinum until i have a better system. i love everquest and i look forward to buying and playing everquest for pc. sse i had been playing frontiers for my ps2 but i saw that nobody is on anymore so i quit. but im going to get the pc version and then build a new pc so i can play eq2 or WoW.

EQ has a lot to offer, and the platinum edition sure is a good deal... (Seems like a great deal to one who paid full price for each expansion at release!)

Just a note, not meant to influence but to inform-- if you can run EQ, you can probably run WoW. The sys reqs are quite low.
