General: Introducing MMORPG.com Mobile

Hey everyone! We have the pleasure of announcing to you the launch of a new Mobile version of MMORPG.com. MMORPG.com mobile will work on all major smartphones, as well as a number of older phones. The Mobile version of the site features a minimalist layout that will let you get right to our news and features, and what is really exciting is we even managed to hook in our game list database!

No special instructions are required on your part, if you are accessing MMORPG.com through your phone you should be automatically redirected to the Mobile version of the site. Of course, you will also have a button to switch to the full site if you so chose.

Also, be sure to check out the new commenting feature on the Mobile site, we'll be pushing this live to the full site in the near future!

Go ahead and tell us what you think of the new site in the comments below. Please share any issues you have with the site as well!

By the way, if you are reporting any issues with the Mobile site please be sure to include  the phone model you are accessing it from. Thanks!

    Nice work!

    I haven't had the chance to test it out yet, my girl has my iPhone with her at work atm, but I will definitely be checking it out once she gets home.

    Its not bad, though a little more functionality would be nice.  Before I could browse the forums if I wanted to, albeit it would be very slow. The site is fast, but it would be nice to have the same options as the main site other then game list and news.  Otherwise, not bad at all.  Much faster and looks good.

     

    ::edit:: btw I'm using a G1 to browse.

    It is much easier to browse through the mobile site and loads much faster as well. The only problem I've noticed is that in articles that have the author's avatar included as well, such as the recent article by John Woods, the picture doesn't scale down with the rest of the text. The avatar takes up about half the screen when it initially loads on my iPhone.

    All looks great to me. Using an LG Dare, however I am supposed to be getting an HTC Incredible at the end of the month. I love this, so much easier to get my MMO news fix.

    Using a G1 here. It does load way faster than before but as mentioned above I liked being able to see the most recent posts section for the forums that updates every 10 seconds on the first loaded page. Don't get me wrong, I like it. I'd just like it a little more if that could somehow be added.

    Thank you!  My phone had a rough time handling the site before.  This is perfect.

    Forums are indeed coming to the mobile site soon enough! We just didn't want to hold out on what's there while the forums got built.

    FYI - I'm using an HTC HD2 with Opera Mobile and it's not auto-changing to the mobile site for me.

    It looks nice and clean, but I switch to the traditional site immediately as I like to read the forums.  Is there a way to bookmark the standard site and ignore the redirect? ...it annoys me.  Adding the recent forum posts to the mobile site would also be a solution.  My Droid handles the full site just fine but I understand the reason for the mobile site.

    Nice! Posting from a Samsung Rogue. Videos here won't work on it, but the mobile site layout works well.

    Anyway we can stay logged in permanently from the phone. I hate typing in my UID and PW every 10 min when I want to post.

    Love it Guys.

    It was a major inconvinience always seeing the gigantic page on my phone and having to zoom in to ac ualy get anywhere. Just tried this out and am happy with the changes.

    In case anybody cares: my Nintendo DSi Opera browser doesn't switch to the mobile site. I rarely use it, but figured I would check to see how it worked.
