This is a great opportunity to see how solid your bank is.
No self-respecting bank will honor any of those charges or impose overdraft fees. Secondly, they would also have an overdraft policy that wouldn't enforce any penalties till 48 hours after you overdrafted.
If you have a good bank, you won't have your card declined for lack of funds, you won't be enforced overdraft fees and they will quickly and efficiently retract any unauthorized charges.
This shit happens. If you aren't smart enough to have a good bank, then its your fault if you get hit. Mistakes like this happen and they will keep happening. PROTECT YOURSELF.
Ugh...at some point Devs will look outside the box.
They are already giving back the money BUT if you were charged 15 times......................you only get 14 times the money back. Also some closed accounts were charged, it really is a mess.
The power went out so your alarm didn't go off and you were late/missed work.
The grocery store's cooling system blew and a lot of their food went bad so you can't buy what you want.
You went to deposit your check at the bank, only to find out it was being robbed and now you can't deposit funds you need to pay bills.
Shit happens... I understand being upset if the banks/companies were not trying to fix the issue... but they are. So keep track of the issues that were created with this mess and get all your information organized so it can be fixed quickly and efficiently.
Also...
Grow up, and stop being mad that the rain ruined your plans for a picnic. Guaranteed it will happen again to you at some point in the future.
Very unfortunate for Mythic. This is probably the worst mistake a MMO company can make.
Funny thing is that GOA did almost the same thing in europe (for WAR) they reactivated all canceled subscriptions at one point.
Luckily I have noticed before I was billed. I dont know if everyone was that lucky ?
Yeah if it was Goa I would not have been surprised. They will never get my credit card number......hell, I doubt I'd play another game they where running.
I could forsee this having some ripple effects, such as overdraft charges. This could get expensive for Warhammer Online assuming this is a widespread problem.
Warhammer isn't responsible for any of the overcharge fees or anything billing related....their billing vendor is.
Why do people constantly make such uneducated comments on these boards?
Well, that would be because most people don't like to read and/or edumacate themselves before voicing their opinions. They mostly love to act like they already know everything and just shoot from the hip. Especially here!

Having setup websites with billing vendors for clients before, depending on the contract EA has with the billing vendor, they very well could be responsible to some predetermined degree. Why do people constantly make such uneducated comments on these boards?
Hey smartguy who has set up websites; why don't you call EA and I'm quite certain you will be told that their billing is in fact handled by a third party. You know how I know? I have set up websites too, but that's not how. No, I actually had this happen to me before toward the end of last year. Guess what they told me:
Their billing is handled by a third party.
But nice try on the I setup websites with billing vendors route.
Mythic is still responsible for there vendors, just like contract workers or temps if they screw up it is still the companies fault even though they do not directly work for them. I going to try that next time...really it is not my fault it was our vendors to my next client and see how far I get..
Never once I have seen something like this happen, I have been double billed, had stuff billed that I did not want, but never 15-20x. Maybe Mythic or the billing company needed a short term loan :P Why not they have a bunch of rabid fanboi's who will defend them no matter what crap they do just look at this thread.

Even with what I stated above, I agree with you to a certain degree and this will certainly reflect poorly on Mythic. More importantly as I also stated above, this isn't the first time this multiple billing issue has happened with Warhammer.
1. It's your problem that you got charged multiple times. Go talk to your bank.
2. It's your fault that your account got hacked. Be more careful next time.
Why won't Mythic take responsibility? I got charged twice while playing Aion a few months ago and THEY worked on getting my money back! I didn't call my bank or anything, THEY (NCSOFT) resolved it for me.
My WoW toon was hacked and 6 hours later, it was restored back to me - nothing was lost except for a few XPs that I don't mind.
Why won't Mythic take responsibility and act?
Why are they driving away the few playerbase that they have?
Regardless as to who's fault you think it is or who should take the blame, how many of you think this is the final nail in the Warhammer coffin? Or, do you think this is just another bump in the road?
Curious as to how many players 'will' cancel over this.
I don't know that, were I a WAR player, I would necessarily cancel over a third-party vendor making a (pretty huge) mistake.
What would, however, cause me to cancel a sub on a game - with any company, not just EA/Mythic/BioWare - would be if the publisher responsible for the game (and thus, for hiring the third-party vendor responsible for the mistake) would be if the publisher wasn't on the ball immediately, forcing the third-party vendor to correct the mistake immediately.
That doesn't appear to be the case here, though. It seems to me, based on the announcements, that EA/Mythic/BioWare does seem to be on top of the situation to the best of their ability. Were I a WAR player, I'd try my best to give them a little time to sort it out on their end.
Also, as has been pointed out already, I'd expect my bank to call me about the rash of outlandish charges. At one time, I had more than one SOE account. Every month (no joke), I got phone calls from my bank's fraud department to verify the charges for my legitimate accounts. To this day, I still get phone calls every couple of months to verify my various MMO accounts or the occasional random fraud check if my bank sees something they don't like. My guess is that if they saw something crazy like that, not only would I have gotten several phone calls, but my account would have been locked down immediately...that's why I have more than one bank account.

Maybe MMO is not your genre, go play Modern Warfare...or something you can be all twitchy...and rank up all night. This is seriously getting tired. -Ranyr
I'd have to be verrrrry deep into a game to NOT cancel after something like this, even if I didn't get hit personally with the overcharges.
The fact that they are happening again today, friday, is the line they've crossed for me. That puts the ol' Trust Meter at negative 11. It even has me concerned about Bioware, who ought to get worried about the stink getting on them.
I'm annoyed enough just by having to monitor my account to make sure Mythic doesn't snare me in the net, even though I've been cancelled for a long time.

Btw, remember that this has happened before, has happened again, and you can bet taht it will happen again. Unsub now and save yourself the trouble!
Only play games that allow use of game cards (which this one does - IF you can find one) - and only pay by that method. Allowing companies access to your money is foolish.
Guarantee that not ALL of that overbilled money will be returned.

4) This shows the danger of using a debit card tied to your "main" account. Get a second account and just keep enough money in it to pay your monthly fees for a few months at a time, and transfer funds as needed. That way if a problem such as this occurs, you're not out of your rent/car payments (unless of course THEY are the ones with the problem lol).
I even suggest having that debit card account with a different bank.

And I thought it was bad when Funcom used to try charging me 2-3 times for AOC in a month but $500 :O

I am suprised that people have forgotten about Flagship and Hellgate: London.
They screwed up with billing in the exact same way as with Mythic right now.
Only with Flagship there were some cases in wich people got charged over 1500 bucks!
This debacle was where the name "Flagshipped!" actually originated from.
It was the final nail in the coffin for Flagship Studios and Hellgate: London back then.
PPL bought Toyota - Not gas pedal....
Somehow, playing F2P games doesn't seem as annoying anymore.
Till you use the item shop, and the exact same thing happens to you.
Let me note something:

lol, yup, they got me 6 times.
