Well, I dropped out of EQ2 about a month or 2 ago and I am missing the MMORPG scene. I'm waiting for D&D online to come out, but in the mean time.....
Is there a MMORPG that would be worth while join right now?(besides WoW) That I wouldn't be so far behind that there is now one to play with or that noone would want me in there guild, etc. Unless there is still a ton of people rerolling character....
Any suggestions or should I tuff it out and wait for D&D online, because I'd just be wasting my time with any MMO before that?
Thanks.

Don't wait. There are many great MMORPGs out there that just get overlooked so much.. Anarchy Online is one you have to give a try. Right now they are offering a free year of playing without expansions, and if you want to play the expansions you can try them out for 7 or 14 days. Because of the popularity of this offer there is an influx of new people you can team with, I always see new people in the newbie zones.
Eve-Online seems like something you would really love, mainly because it has the best guilds (called player orgs i think) there are. EVERY level is needed in these orgs, it doesn't matter what you're good at, how high your skills are, etc. You will be welcomed with open arms for whatever help you can provide. One of the things I love about this game.
The Saga of Ryzom is one you might want to consider too. The art in the game is un-matched, the game is just beautiful. The world really has character too.. and a huge attention to detail. I remember foraging for resources in the starting area and while I was doing this some cute little creature kept watching me curiously, eventually it lied down and took a nap for a while, then woke up and decided to pee and run off. I am not exaggerating, this is how lifelike the creatures in this game are. The game also seems to have a nice storyline going on with lots of roleplayers. Has a trial credit card not required.
So theres a few to think about, these get overlooked sometimes.
I play AO for a while and that game was one I'm sorry I left very fun indeed!
Eve was fun (in beta testing I did) but very complex but well done.
I beta tested SoR and think I'm going to give that a go.
Thanks for the insight,
Any more feel back is welcome.
Play EQ2.
Dude omg, i just had this great idea im gonna make a flash program that chooses the right mmorpg by asking you questions SWEET thanks for the idea.
Im really gonna make a program like that. but in the mean time its way to complicated to ask for a mmorpg to fill a gap for D&D online (what every that is:)
My best advice would be to funnel down your choices.
Do you want sci fi or fantasy. lota people or dedicated fanbase, hack and slash or strategy, korean or american.
