Interesting topic about the game lore.

I heard the ingame currency is named "US dollars". Does this have anything to do with the game lore?

Can anyone tell me why? It just sounds very weird to me.

Is that because all gamers start as a refugee from the pervious fallen world?

All characters start out as survivors from an apocalypse who have escaped to the Lake Tahoe basin  in the United States. So all have some dollars in their pockets when they enter the game.

In this game civilization has to be rebuilt from natural resources and scavanged parts without any over-arching law and order..  How the currency will evolve later in the game is any ones guess. Possibly multiple currencies could exist.

I plan on buying and selling using elastic waistbands as currency, so everyone make sure to bring as much underwear to the Lake Tahoe region as possible.  You might want to salvage some waistbands off of the corpses you're sure to stumble across along your journey.

Don't know what good cash would be in a post apocolyptic world.

Seems guns and bullets would be the currency of choice image
