Its GW1 but different and much changed. It has nothing to do with WoW..when will people stop comparing every game to WoW.
WoW clone is a phrase. Yh i agree with u on the GW1 thing. But the changes are almost identical to WoW clone. It is GW1 advanced but then............ dunno
Fine I will re phrase it is GW2, GW turned into a game like evrey other MMO or is it something new. Happy now guys?
tell me about another MMO that has Steampunk features with Futureistic features with medieval features mixed with plant people features. I thought so u can't . GW2 is no where near just another game. It is evolution of MMO gone right along with other MMOs. a good MMO that u don't have to pay Subs for is hard to find these days. Good that u changed the title because WoW clone anoyes me. Who gave WoW a crown that sais all MMOs from now on should be compared to u oh great WOW.
i think GW2 has got the only Steampunk theme (neosteam doesn't come close)
Any mmorpg today will have elements of the EQ1 make up,just like WOW has, swtor will be just the same as well.
Thanks for the link. I think I should delete this post now. What do people think of Centaurs and Kodan might becoming playable race in future expansions?
If u look at the asuras fighting the red trimmed robots one asura moves to the side to dodge a lighting bolt like attack when Zojja said "even magic is a clog in the eternal alchemy". Is that what they ment by a range of movements that are not emotes?
Way too early to tell. They haven't said very much about the game itself to make any judgements. That's what irritates me the most, they're going to wait till the last few months to spill the beans about gameplay and if it ends up being something I don't like then it's enormous amount of time and energy wasted waiting on this game.

=== Damn this post editor ===
There is plenty of steam punk in WoW. Too much, for my liking.

They said they have surprise in store for fans on the 5th annaversery of GW series maybe those ANet dudes will finaly tell us professions through another video.
It's this year actually. April 28th(26th for some people) evrey year is GW's anni.It is the date that GW:P was released April 28th 2005. Read bellow, i think u got release of GW wrong or something. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_Wars_Prophecies
I don't know... I had to guess, I'd say some more of this artsy stuff or some lore. -Yeah. Lore would go well with the novel. Maybe something about these heroes we saw.

I think it is something new but it semans alot like WOW. What do other people think about GW2 so far.
is it WOW clone or Diffirent in a a lot of ways.
While Guild Wars had some similarities to WoW in the sense of, over use of instances and focus on soloability instead of virtual world, the POINT of the game was entirely different, and rather refreshing.
GW2 is starting to look like a different animal, no exclamation point quests (THANK FREAKING GOD, one of the most ANNOYING things to come out of WoW), a wide open seamless world (haven't heard if there will be instances or not, hopefully no) . Seems they're actually trying to do something new and untested, which WoW NEVER has.
Also I think the topic of the thread is slightly off. I believe the question you are asking is: Is this something new or is it a typical MMO. There really isn't anything that makes WoW... WoW... especially nowadays with all the MMOs out there. WoW is very standard as a matter of fact.. it just happens to do all those standard things very well. I liked WoW for the while that I played and loved Guild Wars... It sounds like it's taking the standard MMO and giving it the Guild Wars spin.. which should feel new and refreshing.
Many people think a WoW clone is pretty much running around an open world while excessively hitting jump to entertain yourself, and a skill bar, one of the biggest parts of a "WoW Clone" (Actually EQ2 Clone but more have played WoW then anything else) Thats where Guild wars is interesting. Its not spamming 1,2,3 like EQ2 clones but with more skills as you level, Guild wars is tactical with the skill bar, its not a talent tree or something that defines your build, its your skillset mainly (and your attributes fit accordingly to your skills) This I hope they keep more than anything in Guild wars 2, without that part, then its another generic over-hyped MMO that has no innovation. The skill bar made Guild wars, your build, your gameplay, and tactics, without this, then yes, is will be a "WoW clone" but i sure hope not
MMOs played: Too many Watch List: FFXIV, CoH:GR, GW2, SWTOR, TERA, Earthrise
However... one of the main issues I had as Guild Wars went on.. was people looking for specific builds. It was understandable but this really limited what you could use if you wanted a party. If you didn't have the right build you would get kicked... the main problem was people's unwillingness to try anything new. It was almost as if there was only one way to do any particular mission or whatever.... I hope they address... perhaps allowing you to change your skills between battles instead of just in towns. That way you're not stuck with it and people will be more willing to experiment.
But I hope they keep the attributes.. and (personally) I like the idea of having to do quests to get skills.. instead of just buying them or using a talent tree... time will tell ^^

Skill bars are not unique to WoW, or EQ2...
And no, called WoW an open world? lmfao.
WoW clones are generally... linear worlds that funnel players, TONS of instances, quest based leveling mechanic, end game is all about getting gear and having the level cap raised with no meaningful PvP, crafting, or other objectives. And the biggest symptom of a WoW clone, everything is so simple and easy that you couldn't possibly ever mess up, they pile rewards onto you to keep you happy, make sure you never get frustrated and if you somehow do mess up, there's no penalty.

Jeez......people throw the term WoW clone way to much. What exactly do you mean by that? Have you ever played GW?
Everyone has opinions, but does that make them the universal truth??? NO!
Its GW1 but different and much changed. It has nothing to do with WoW..when will people stop comparing every game to WoW.
Yh. I have actually played it for years dude. And WoW clone is a phrase it doesn't actually mean like WoW it means a game with certain features.
