Is WOW really WOW and worth it?

Hey i am thinking of getting WOW and just was wondering if this game is truly good. I need players that have playeed it to tell me and give me examples of fun they have had and such that u will persuade one with. Like writing an advertisement. Is the price worth it? is gameplay good? will it last???

Is the price worth it?
Surely. I, like you, wasnt sure if I should just jump into a game. WoW would be my second MMORPG, EQ being my first. After playing it for nearly 3 months, its well worth the 50 bucks that I spent. You wont be able to see whether its worth it or not unless you try it out, yourself.
Is gameplay good?
Extremely. The questing in the game is well done also. The world is huge, meaning there is not just one place to level. Instead, there are 4 or 5 zones/areas where you would be able to hunt. Its a fun game. It will make you want to keep playing, but it wont get you "addicted." You'll soon realize that you can fun just in a little 30 minute session in WoW.

It has lasted for me. It has lasted for thousands of others also.

You will never really know the answers of these sorts of questions though, until you play the game yourself. Every person has a different taste, a different opinion.
22 posts and more than half say no? That's...amazing. Maybe some people around got through to the masses when they say "Forget what other people say, just play your game and have some fun."
I play WoW, I like the gameplay and the PvP is good, not the best, but it could get better with the honor system and battle grounds.
You'll never truly know how good a game is until you try it yourself. Don't always listen to what EVERYONE has to say.
It's my 2nd day playing, and im just as hooked as I was yesterday. I can't wait to get high enough to pvp passing players while im stealth

It's a fairly fun game and pretty good overall.
But it won't last you long at all. I'm already level 52 and I didn't even buy it when it first came out. So if being able to max your character in 2 months is long lasting, then I guess it is. But I would have liked this game alot more, if there was more to do.
And I get really tired of people saying "So? Start another character". Doing the exact same stuff on a different race or class is not different, or fun. VERY repetetive.
Very unstable game right now. Just now my server crashed for no reason at all.. Oh my bad some alliance about 20 Camp T... So the whole server crashes!?!?........
Latency beyound belief, everyone in Gen chat complains about it.. Check there own official forums out, tons of people are pissed off at Blizzard right now...While this is a cool game there tech issues cannot be ignored. Cant tell you how many times you will see "Well the NPC's dissapered, server about to crash" or "Arrgg I cant get resurrect my body" "Me Too" "Me Three" ect....
Blizzard is swinging the ban stick wildly.. Had a friend the other day fighting a Warlock in Thousand needles.. He fell off the lift due to being feared (which should not have happend) and his body fell through the world and he died... When he resurrected he was in Stone Mountains???? 2 days later he gets a email saying his account is baned due to them suspecting him of using that new Teleport hack that is out...
All and all WOW is a decent game and lets face it there is hardly anything out there right now so most of us are stuck... But alot of us are getting tired of these Tech problems with there severs and add that to the fact that they're slow as hell on the bug/exploit fixes and content additions and you have alot of pissed off customers.
To the original poster its just a matter of do you want to deal with this or not...For those that will try to come and flame me for Bashing Blizzard I offer there own Official forums (provided there working) as proof to all of Blizzards problems..
So in short I would say /NO

You gotta cut em some slack. This is probably the most populated MMORPG. They are doing critical service on the servers right now.
Looking for something new.
It might last you 3 months without battlegrounds and honour system. say you have a mainwho is a blacksmith/miner you get to lvl 40 ish and get a little bored so you roll an alt who is a tailor/skinner. you can easily powerlevel the alt in tailoring by just mailing loads of linen, wool. Tailor will get to make bags so space nor money isnt a prob.
After that alchemy, herbalism, engineering and leatherworking is all thats left. If you are in a guild you'd be wise to have at least one enchanter so you don't really need to pick that prof.
If battlegrounds or honour system aren't introduced soon, Im going to get bored seeing the same stuff and doing the same stuff, at least PvP breaks it up a little. Im sure Im not the only one who thinks so.

Wow is a 2 hours epic movie, doesnt last very long but boy what a ride. But with all the new pvp coming out and tradind and such its like making a series outa the movie.
Definitly worth it.
Biggest problem that i have seen quoted 1000 times over is how ....."simple" It is.
I avoided the word shallow.

Let's put it this way, it has the highest population of gamers in NA, but it ain't the best just because it's HUGE in NA. It's one of the best but ain't the best
I think people REALLY look to much into these things.
1. Is the game good? Only one way to find out. Play.
2. Is it worth 15 a month? See 1.
3. Will it last? see 1.
In the end haters will be haters and lovers will be lovers. Nothing lasts forever and all things are boring if you play it enough.
Trust those who you call friends or the sites thats done by someone who has experience in MMOs and not us people who are biased. (I love the game and I am level 60)
In the end we are all playing a rodent in a pretty cage fighting the 'wheel'. Try it out to see if that type of enviroment is for you. Best advice I can give.
