My biggest mistake was playing through all the closed stress tests and i eventualy burned out on wow but now that old black magic has got me hankerin for a bit of azeroth.
gimme some pro's and Con's please
Comments
Pro: it costs you $15 to play for a month (cheaper than any retail game of quality you can buy)
Con: you already know what to expect, and nobody here is going to be able to tell you otherwise.
All things considered, one of the greatest assets a valid MMOG account gives you is the ability to return for 30 days of play for a rock-bottom price. I now have accounts in nearly every major MMOG on the market, and I've had a great time revisiting old classics that I had burnt out on at some point in the past.
Usually I find the same old problems that made me leave in the first place. But it's a piece of old nostalgia, and I usually get more gametime from reactivating an old MMOG than I do from many new $50 retail games.
One other pro to consider: reactivating your account will refresh any purge timers on your old characters. Not all MMOGs purge, but if they do you'll at least get a few more months of life out of that investment of time you made so long ago.
Ton of "free" content coming soon (must have read about this), no paying extra for an expansion or pack.
Lots of new players and servers.
Try a different race and class to level, Alliance and Horde have very different missions.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
They are using a 5 year old graphics engine. This has allowed a huge amount of people to play the game, so do not expect any massive graphics upgrade anytime soon.
Over 1 million players are growing. They have not resolved the population problems yet. I would expect them to only get worse.
Draconian application of rules in the game.
A significant portion of the upcoming 'free' content is merely content that should have been added and tested prior to its launch. Of course WoW is certainly not alone in doing that.
Here is what it comes down to. Do you like getting in on the ground floor and watching to game grow, change, and get nerfed? Or do you prefer playing a polished game? They do not even have RvR up and running yet and it will be caped at 300 people in the battlegrounds. Whay they have planned for lower levels also does not look promissing. So what you need to decide is not only if you want to play the game, but when do you want to play it? Now that it is incomplete, or later once more material is added?
Yeah thats my biggest thing, my highest is lvl 36-38 cant rember.
But without REAL pvp, not the ganking in contested territory, it seems that its a bit under....whateverwordyouwannaputhere.
Also what is a medium-to-high pop server with real good community?
I really need to find a good guild when i get in i think to get the most fun out it
Toughest rater in the world
Try to impress me, please, i dare u
Isay no cause its just a boring game. Wow is made for children and you are going to find better games in the not to distant future.
Take a break and wait for some new blood to hit the market. I even went back to try out COH until something good comes out.
Wow made for children, not heard of irony then.
PvP honour system is coming soon.
If you only made it to 38th then your missing out on all the great dungeons at high level and some of the best areas of the game.

Don't play it again because the game is really boring
All you do is get a quest, go kill so many of these and get so many of these
and you do it OVER and OVER again just with different areas
WoW has to be the most boring and repetitve MMO I've played right up there with AO and leveling up to 200 off of Hecklers or when I first played before Shadowlands was even released you had to do pointless borrrrrrrrring missions over and over and over again. Much like the routine of WoW, I think WoW is possibly the most overrated game of all time because in my book it's one of the worst games.
I wouldn't pay money monthly to be bored, why would you?
Resubscribe when they add new content. Or better, when they add battlegrounds and honor system, otherwise it isn't worth it if you already have lvl60.
I dunno im really missing it, but i do remeber how repitive it got.
The main reason i quit was because i kept dieing try to up my trade skill and such.
Folks have made some great suggesitons. Left wow haven't looked back yet.
I didn't enjoy wow beyond first month, so for me it is a no brainer on rather or not to look at it again.
However if you have seen patch notes that have changed certain things in why you left in the first place, then that might be a reason to check in again. If not patch notes new content as well.
nada wrong with checking other possibilties of free trials out there either......
98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you''re one of the 2% who hasn''t, copy & paste this in your signature.
Ok i played the GW beta, it ran smooth, no lag.
But are the people who are saying GW is better than WoW saying that it is Not as shallow with more possiblitys?
It may be a great game but just for the sake of hearing "I-love-GW!" one more time.....
FUCK GUILD WARS WITH A STOLEN DICK! Gah, It was a nice game and all but for christs sake.
Man,i agree with you 100%.This game is so overated.I played it for 2 months and could'nt take it anymore. What got to me the most was the retrieve items quest. You need to bring back 5 items to a quest giver that drop from 1 mob.
You end up killing maybe 30 of them to get 5 items.God that sucked. And some of the class only quest were just dumb.Alot of the quest are just so stupid or badly written.
Other...Not yet
Some, of what could be the most fun to play content, isn't being added just yet. Battlegrounds and Hero classes are still a ways off as is the Honor system. Also, they are nerfing some classes drastically in an attempt to balance, yet still have others which are broken/semi-playable. They still have server issues and queues with some down time depending on which server you are on.
I have cancelled for now in the hopes that things get better in the coming months. I will keep watching, but may try back in 6 months or so. I know it's tough, with a desire to play a good MMO, but a little more time may not hurt you. The longer you wait, the fresher it will seem when/if you go back to the game. I am entertaining myself with alot of good XBox games coming out in March-May. If you have a console or other PC games you can play, try that for a little distraction. Just an opinion.
*Reality check here*
ALL MMORPS are repetitive by nature!
That is the nature of the beast, you will never get a game that isnt because it takes too many people to produce thus too expensive to make.
Anyone who says that a MMORP is not repetitive should actually LOOK at what they are doing and how repetitive it is.
The goal for a developer is to make it as fun as possible and challenging enough for you to come back for more.

Thank you for saying that!
Do you know when a MMORPG gets repetitive? After the very first quest! They are all essentially the same.
