Sure there are still people on the servers but the low level areas are pretty much barren. You will need people to power level you though the old areas. When I tried to go back to FFXI , Asura had the most with 3000 people but compared to what it used to be that is still small. They need to consolidate more servers because with a game like this grouping with others is essential.

When was the last time you played? On Fenrir, a middle population server, there are lot's of low levels running around. I just started today, and seen 5 different people with no subs leveling in South Gustaberg...
