Depends, if we're talking Bioshock 1 timeline, yeah it could be interesting, if we're talking Bioshock 2, meh. It's not that Rapture isn't interesting without Ryan it's that Lamb never was interesting, that and the fact that they either need to find a way to rebuild Rapture or, like a couple of the endings suggested, move on to a new setting which could, handled poorly, kill the series.
What could be really interesting is seeing a BS (ooh they gotta fix that) MMO start with the opening of Rapture and slowly seeing the populace moving into madness, but how long do you drag that out for before people get bored. Maybe start with a standard human avatar and be given the options as to how far down the rabbit holes available you'll go. If they can keep it interesting I'd be willing to sink some time into that. But how do you handle factions, if it's beyond Lamb or even during the war. Too many questions and possibilities filling my head, gang (as in guild) warfare, are Big Daddy's (or Sister's) playable, if it's set another ten years after BS2 what could possibly be left? A big one, how do you let players really have an impact in either a world ruled by Ryan and Fountaine or a world on the edge of collapse, literally buildings falling on your head. The power vacuum Lamb would leave behind could be interesting but we all know now what happened after Fountaine and Ryan fell so those years would be trite at best.
One good possibility, again depending, this could be the first good FPS MMO if they head that way. But either way leave GFWL on the street corner where it belongs this time.

Yes, I would be interested. I would just like to know technical details like character creation, character progression, PVP/PVE, etc. But at this point, since it's only a rumor, it's all left to speculation. What type of MMO would be birthed from the Bioshock IP?

i've never even played bio shock game itself so don't know if i'd be interested in an mmo on the same...but as long as its innovative and new and different i might give it a try..i do most new p2p mmo's as it is...
I think the CoD MMO rumour is more interesting to me. At least they will have the clunky combat problem solved (ranged combat at least) that is almost a universal MMO problem. And with a little help from Blizzard they might have just enough MMO qualities to make it the next multi-multi-million subscriber MMO. Of course, I'm a big fan of 1st person shooters since Doom (actually Wolfenstein) and right now I usually split my time between shooters, MMOs, Civ4 mods, and roguelikes. Now there would be the ultimate game: CoD+Civ4+WoW+Stone Soup. I think my mind just exploded...
