Bad Idea.. but I would watch out with the carebear comment.. it could come back to haunt you.. such as:.. A REAL man would want permadeath along with full loot.. YOU die, period.. start over..... Are you game for that? or are you a carebear?
No way the classes and not even close to being equal in pvp and with the game being gear based one death could ruin a toon for a long time. Besides if I wanted to worry about getting ganked in the back I could pick many other games or go back to work in a prison.
I would like to, but 1st of all, all pvp items should be craftable. PVE items like tier items should not be dropable on death. Crafting pvp items should not cost too much and should be possible to distribute to all clan mates depending on how much players are ready to gather items and craft. After that, some real pvp politic should come into place. Build towers every where we want to make some world map war and territory control would be great.
Why not? Because PvP mechanics in WoW are an afterthought, and just having a FFA server isn't a good thing, the whole game needs to be designed with PvP in mind to be worthwhile, see DAoC.
Either you remake the whole game to be PvP, or you'll have a bunch of people crying because they lost the new sword they got from the new raid after waiting 3 weeks saving up DKPs or w/e it is they use now.
I love how people throw carebear around to make it sound like they are somehow more extreme or more hardcore of a player.
If someone is willing to watch their lvl 80 permanently die and reroll, I think that person probably doesnt have much of a life, and doesnt get much action.

If you played old school Ultima online, you would understand. Every items in UO was craftable by players. There was no lvl, only stats and skills to raise. IT did not take long to max them, when you was a red flagged pker, once you die, you lost -10% of your total stats. It was fast to gain it back. It was only a cool down to leave other player style alone a lil bit because UO was not a pvp mmorpg only, it was for any playstyle, but you could not prevent a pker from killing you if you cant run away or fight back to win the battle. You can also lose items on death in runescape. Wow could learn to do the same for a server.
Well, in the modern day, the best example is EVE online. Currently the best sandbox mmorpg with pvp harsh concequence, but i dont want to play in a space ship so thats why i dont even try the trial.

FYI, determining someones worth by how much "action" they get is equally childish as the "carebear" crap.
OP isn't worth anyones attention. Anyone with basic reasoning skills let alone that has a basic grasp on MMOs would know why it would be a terrible idea and how you can't just take a ruleset designed for a completely different type of game and throw it into another one.
WoW is just not designed to support a full loot system. Every game I've ever played that allows full looting uses a skill based system and I just dont see it working out well in a gear-based game.

Good call. Only reason that came to mind was my girlfriend was nearby and 'action' came to mind, lol.

Let's also not forget that quality > quantity. How much 'action' one gets is not nearly as vital as how 'hot' the individual performing the 'action.'
Anyway, I'd like there to at least be 1 server of each MMO with harsh pvp rules. If you don't like it, nobody has a gun to your face forcing you to play on that server.
Kinda like vanilla or BC wow servers that never get patched. They don't take any of the dev team's time and nobody is forcing you to play on those servers, yet there are tons of anti-vanillla/BC players who would complain to blizz about the very existence of the servers...
It's a lousy idea because it'd turn a fun action oriented PvP system into a snorefest for fight dodging, quasi hardcore "PvPers" playing internet hardmen.

Only pirate servers it can be. (Pirate servers sucks )
