Guild Wars is the natural succesor of Diablo 2 - not a true MMORPG, but action-RPG without monthly fee where everything is instanced.

Don't even bother with crappy wannabes like Dungeos Siege, Nox(lol) or Sacred.

Dude, xploror, o say D2 has helpers, thats correct, but DS?????????????' LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

In DS u get new chars, u dvelop them, u use them as chars not helpers. They r just just like ur main char, they r not helpers.... In DS u will have a hard time beating the game alone, while in D2 thats almost like doing it with a helper...

I keep saying DS has nothing to do with D2....

And u say in DS u cant unlearn skils (I suppose u mean spells, thats the only skill DS has)... u can just take them of ur spellbook...

I simply cant see where u see any similarity of DS with D2...

I was right in correcting previous wrong info posted in this thread? image

And in D2 you also develope your helpers - if you decide to. In BOTH D2 and DS you can develope your helpers - IF you decide to. Please re-read where I said DS built on what D2 did, and made it even better, more modern. This is why I say DS is unofficially D3, since it took the nice things from D2, and built on them. Are both games the same? No. If they were then it would mean DS did not further build on what D2 did.

And in both D2 and DS you will have a hard time beating the game alone without using a helper. That is why they are called helpers. Call them whatever you want - "helpers", "other characters", "extra characters". They are additions to the game, that you can choose to use, or not use. You cannot name them, you cannot run them through the character creator. The game makers deside how they start out. You the player then decide to use them or not.

If you cannot see the simularities between D2 and DS, then that is your opinion. You keep expecting DS to be just like D2. You keep forgetting any game that IS D3 (officially, or unofficially) will not, cannot, be the same as D2. It will be a game that takes elements from D2, and then further builds on them.

      - In DS the way equiping items works, items in your inventory works (having to move them around like a jigsaw puzzel in order to fit them into your inventory), is exactly the same in D2.

      - In DS the way helpers works is the same as in D2, in additon, DS further built on how helpers work - giving players far more control, aka making helpers far, far, more intelligent.

      - In DS the way helpers gain skills, level up, is simular to how D2 popularized the idea. The idea of being able to level up helpers. In addition helpers can get items, weapons, etc... equiped by players.

      - In DS the game world is linear just like in D2. There is one path from the start, all the way to the finnish. In both games there litterally is a main dirt path you follow that leads through the entire game.

     - DS is a newer, more modern game than D2, so it has far better graphics, and tons of features that D2 has, BUT DS further built on. Like my example with how potions are used, which I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread. So of course D2 and DS are going to be simular, but not going to be exactly alike. IMHO both games are still fun to play! imageimage
