Looking for new singleplayer adventure/rp game.

EzehielEzehiel Member Posts: 36

As the the title says, I am looking for a new game. A singeplayer game.

What I'm looking for has to be adventure/rpg, sorta like Oblivion. It doesn't have to be open ended or completely open world, just something in style with Oblivion. I prefer the medieval style, but sci-fi style is also welcome. I would like some sort of crafting and/or survival in the game, like if you're out exploring, you need to set up a small camp, make some food and sleep, go hunt or something like that to survive. The crafting part, I would like to be wide and open, like you have to go hunting and skinning, find veins with metals and be able to craft your own armor, sorta like that.

I would also like the game to be full of choices, choices that matters or have consequences.

Don't recommend Fallout 3 or Oblivion, already played those games, loved them but even they get boring after a while.

i can highly recommend gothic 1 & 2 (gothic 3 is crap in my opinion)

if you don't mind the dated grafix.

or risen (in fact its a gothic sequel) and the witcher.

the witcher has not really a open world but all the rest you expect and the game was very cool at least for me.

You should try Dragon Age: Origins, great story and really nice graphics.

Risen is exact game you seek.

Witcher and Dragons age are both top of the line RPGs. But Risen is this free roaming, survival, crafting, factions, consequences..etc RPG

Also you might look at STALKER , its 10% rpg and 90% shooter (and good one) but its also crafting+survival+consequences+factions+great story

    Hi,

Maybe try "Two Worlds".  I have tried "The Wicher" and that was very good storyline. Another one maybe to try is "Sacred 2 Gold Edition". That is hard to find in the US with its "Ice and Blood" expansion. (I had to get mine from the UK).  And final another to look into is "Drakensang (The Dark Eye)" Hope they help.

    Thanks for all your replies.

I have already tried Risen, I got bored pretty quick, already completed S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, pretty good game, but just not, what I seek. I have been looking at Dragon Age, but the whole thing with pausing, making that character do that, this character do this, then see how it plays it, it's just not my style. I get bored too quick with that kind. I have been looking at The Witcher, is there any place, where I can download some sort of demo?

Dragon Age: Origins plus the Awakening expansion. That will you keep you busy for about 50-100 hours.

Seriously there is no better fantasy RPG around atm, I have enjoyed it so much. Only downside is that it's not as open as Oblivion, less free roaming although I didn't mind this at all. Story > free roam.

    I'll second this.

I'm on my 4th run through of Dragon Age Origins at the moment (it will be my 2nd Awakenings) and I'm still having fun. I'm usually a bit rubbish at replaying RPGs once I've completed the story but I haven't felt the same way about Dragon Age. I like the variety in the classes.
