Eh, Windows Performance Index is useless anyway. Use an actual hard drive benchmark tool it'll turn up the same result each time.

Also not sure what auto-update you're talking about, I haven't seen that on my nVidia card in my other PC.

10.4 are not WSQL certified.  They are considered Beta Drivers.  If you want an auto-updated, just wait for windows to get around to updating it for you once they are certified.

ATI drivers are a manual install, meaning you have to uninstall the old drivers and manually install the new ones.

With Nvidia, all you do is download the driver and the .exe inside the driver package does all the rest for you.

I'm pretty sure that's what the OP meant.

mm!doesnt mather i tried to reinstal .net4 and all ati, cantreproduce the 7 on ms index now. in none of the version

i think this speed boost is related to .net 4 but since ati use the older version ,i guess it might have been detection error on ms end  since its the only real variable that can change according to ms whim maybe .net4 will be included in 10.4 official released.sure was nice to see a 7 on an 5.9 drive not once but actually repeatable loli shouldnt haved reinstall all

now it prob only use .net3.51 instead of 4 since in the infinite wisdom of ms both run side by side grin.

anyway ty for help guys i sure wish ati adopted the auto detect  feature of nvidia but some are right.i still need to uninstall

.net4 everytime i upgrade ati,but still it would be an improvement !

You can do the same thing with ATI drivers, just download the exec and execute.  Most people prefer to more cleanly install the drivers by uninstalling and installing the new drivers, but its unnecessary.  Now an integrated component in the ATI control panel that auto-patches would be nice.

No uninstall is perfect, for example nvidia leaves lots of garbage behind when uninstalling. You should always use driver cleaner or similar software to wipe out the leftovers.

I just install new ATI drivers on top of the old ones without uninstalling and have done so for a couple years without problems. I understand some people uninstalling to clean the reg but I haven't had an issue, except when trying to downgrade from 10.3 to 10.2 I had to uninstall 10.3 first because it wouldn't replace the actual driver as long as the newer existed.
