The game is so empty that there aren't even gold spammers.

Yea, I never thought I'd miss those damn gold spammers that makes it impossible to use the chat in some games. Well, I do now, this game so empty that there aren't even gold spammers in it, wich is quite a feature for a F2P game.

Well, no wonder, who would advertise something in the middle of a desert? No players=no gold spammers.

This game pretty much requires you to party with other people by making the quests impossible to solo (after lev 30 you can't solo a damn quest the same level as you on your own) and without anyone to party with, you're doomed. The game is brand new and it's already doomed, how fun.

I've played games on private servers with much more people than this.  God forsaken Lineage 2 that's FIVE YEARS OLD and still rips off by charging $15 bucks a month (wich is absurd for such and obsolete game) still have more players than this. What sense does that makes?

WHY there aren't anyone in this game? It's a damn good game, I've played much worst games with way more people.  Actualy, WAAAAYYYY worst ones. This game is a thousand times better than stuff like Silk Road, Perfect World, World of Kung Fu and so on. So, what I wanna know is:

This game is good, so why there aren't players in it?

I ask myself the same thing everyday. It is a great game.  I can't even get friends I know that play MMORPGs to try. I think the fact its a F2P people tend to shy away from them, which just confuses me, its free what the harm in trying? I hope with the next update more people will try the game. Plus, with SUN you do not see any advertisements for the game anywhere...that doesn't help.

There are two versions one hosted by iJJi (which is for NA, Canada, Mexico, and the UK) and Webzen's which is for almost everyone else. Both versions are pretty close to each other content wise. I think the  Korean or Tawain  version is the original that game out in 2006.

How is it now? I've played this game in the past... I pretty much owned but it became so darn boring.. more of the same and no pvp-options at all.. Anything good happened?

Seems to have some of the nicest graphics/combat out of any of the f2ps I've seen out there.

However, forcing group towards the end doesn't float well with f2pers (which are often into soloing).

I've tried to DL the game several times. i'm thinking about giving it another shot. Is ther eanything to do endgame wise?

Those screens sure look nice. Might give this a try. Like others have said I never heard of this one till it showed up on the front page.

Graphics are ok indeed but everyone of the same class looks almost the same, that's a bit cheap if you ask me..

I played it a bit, designed for group play and if you missed the train: bad luck you're out.

The fact that WebZen is the publisher (Europe) and that they are know for what they do with cash shop affecting gameplay is what stops many people from trying it. And most people left anyway, I still get the occasional E-mail begging me to come back and play with free cash shop gifts as a reward, but that just proves to me that the game is pretty much dead already.

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

I played this some in beta and shortly after release.  Had a good time with it in beta and the first couple weeks after release.  I erally dont like f2p games, but this one was not bad as long as you don't buy anything.  What drove me away was the MT cost.  The cost of things in that CS was absurd.  Back then it was around $40 US just to reset your stats.

I can't say that it has changed since i haven't logged back in since.  From the sounds of it, I might as well remove it from my HD.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

very simple bad advertising almost anyone i know that plays this game only knows about it cause word of mouth from other ppl that have played it.

this game however isnt truly for the solo'ers of mmos theres alot that is possible to solo in this game depending on your class you choose and how you build your character ive seen gold spammers myself not too many only 2-3 on this game the thing is china recently made gold selling illegal so theyre trying to crack down on alot of these companys that do this

also the community is pretty good about reporting these spammers so you only see them for a week or two before their ip banned and its realy not too hard to make money in this game surpisingly theres alot of quests that have in game currency for a reward but its a fairly decent amount. just like in any mmo though theres a bit of merchanting that takes place which seems realy over priced when you first make it to etherain (one of the main cities in the game) but alls you do is find ppl selling things check the shops around towns to get a general idea of what items are worth and what they go for.

theres always a little bit of undercutting in private shop set ups to get your items sold faster this goes for pretty much anything even in real life its called competitive marketing

i for one am glad theres not a bunch of gold spammers go play aika and your bound to be blocking 5-10 ppl a day that are gold bots selling gold and chat is almost pointless and theyre hardly ever taken care of to the point where theres not 5-10 in town everyday no matter how many times they ban them.

I remember there being some moderate hype behind this game years ago.

This is my first time taking a look at the game, and i can make some assumptions as to why it may be dead.

First of all, i wont play any ijji games.  they make you install spyware, and you have to launch the game from their website, wich is just an obnoxious way of generating false website hits and traffic.

Secondly this game stinks of everything people hate about eastern mmorpgs. From what ive read, its a "farm mobs" grinder, non existant character customization, its F2P, and its got a high level cap (which leads me to believe it follows eastern F2P tradition of no endgame)

I think the biggest thing holding back SUN from even a decent following is ijji...people see that and they pass it over without consideration...that publish never hosts a decent game, and the ones it does host are jam packed with gold farmers, on top of the fact you gotta download their spyware and launch from their website.

I would download and try the game if it wasnt hosted by ijji...however i probably wouldnt stick around too long unless it proves to be something diffrent than the usual eastern grinder that it appears to be.

Edit: just noticed that ijji doesnt have this game listed, yet the webzen version has IP locks on NA/CA.  Might be an issue with low population locking out a major gaming region from playing.  Seems ijji isnt interested in mentioning that they are hosting SUN.

It's unfortunate this game was handled by ijji and not another company.   The game itself is actually quite good and has a somewhat unique style of play.

I enjoyed it in beta before the cash shop.   Their cash shop was another story.   You could flat out buy epic items from the cash shop that were better than what you could obtain normally.   The prices were also absolutely outlandish for anything desirable.   If I remember right, $40 or something for a skill reset?   Many other desirable things that we would find as staples in a f2p cash shop were priced similarly.   When I saw these things, I had to leave (which was a shame because I enjoyed the game).

It was as though they initially took a reasonable person and had them set normal industry standard items and prices in the store....waited until it was completed, then multiplied the prices of everything by 3 and took allt he best items in the game off of drop tables and added them to the cash shop.
