Who know, I may even end up playing it myself, depend more on the how it is build and on the gameplay then on the setting.
Now would be better then 5 years ago: Reason, the fans are now more of an age to play a MMORPG then 5 years ago. It all depend on how the game is build, can it interest young adults and teens(gameplay)? Of course you would have a few kids, but it will prolly appeal way more to those that grew with Pikachu then todays kids. I was to old, but still, it make me smile nonetheless. It would be like saying Star Wars is for kids, well, you have a few kids, but you have more grey heads then kids at the movie theater, the removal of Jar Jar Binx in subsequents episodes is the ultimate proof of what I am saying! Today's kids would be around Harry Potter(eh, they prefer that over LoTR, heretics little kids), yet, a MMORPG about Harry Potter should wait a few years before release, so they are in the age of playing a MMORPG and pay monthly fees.

First of all i need to thank you for all your interesting comments and that you show this much matureness is very exciting.
Those who really grew up with pokemon are right now in my age (14 nearly 15). And these are, i hope, mature enough ay this sort of game. And i think that if it gets as much publicity as its going to need. It will reach out and open our hearts to these little (or big) creatures.
i think that the pvp battle would be a little like when you duel someone in WoW that you stand in one corner and your opponent in the other, you let lose your creature and run around in an area. The acuall attacks will load up before you can strike. And the better attacks the longer loadingtime.
And of course the game would be in 3d that is the new generation
