Aika: PvP Interview

StraddenStradden Managing EditorMember CommonPosts: 6,696

MMORPG.com's Garrett Fuller sat down to talk to Aika Community Manager Christina Kelly about the game's PvP system.

MMORPG.com:

What trends have you seen in Beta? Are players going for the bigger battles?

Christina Kelly:

Players are definitely embracing the idea of fighting in organized groups which demand their loyalty, whether it's the guild vs. guild throwdowns of Castle Siege or the epic national clashes of Relic War. Players aren't necessarily attracted by the size of a particular battle - it's about the motivation and the idea of fighting for a greater cause. This often means that we see large battles, since the game can handle it and there are many passionate players, but this is more of a case of correlation than causation.

yep!civil war will play a major part in this game!

very fun game!simple to get the hand of but the fact every guild can skeem and plot to try to get it too bring a lot on the table!

My prediction is that no computers will be able to handle the "thousands in one zone" and the only real nation vs. nation warfare would be on the forums.

They say thousands, but I'm not sure how true that is. It's happened already, a raid so large that people couldn't logg into the PvP server. I wasn't able to make it there to see exactly how many people were there, but I can easily imagine a few hundred. I've been there when (what seemed like) 1 or 2 hundred players were running around killing each other. And I've seen the beginning of raids when easily 100+ people are standing around, waiting to start. But that's about all I've personally seen. So yes, it can handle alot of players, but I'm not too sure of that THOUSAND PLAYERS claim.

I wish i could have played this game but on the second hand

What kind of company ip blocks 70% of the globe for a game that needs and is advertized as holding a massive amount  of players?

And yes i know they say they are going to release another version for everyone else to play  but how idiotic would it be if  you first block the players and then expect them to come rushing when you release the respective version

It's like saying a big fuck you  ...ohh yeah .. can i have your money in the future

Might have been a great game but the people who run it are not
