Depends on what you are into. If you want to be able to fight players of the opposing faction at any time, choose a PvP server. IF you'd rather fight against computer-controlled opponents, with occasional PvP only when you choose to participate, choose a Normal server. If you like to role play and want to stay in character all of the time, choose an RP server.

It really doesn't make a big difference as to which server you pick as long as you pick one of the right category. Also, make sure you choose a low population server, as it seems those are the most stable. There will still be plenty of people to group with, but it will be less crowded, with typically less lag and less instability.

    ok dat helps alot thanks.

i think i will pick a 'normal' server lol and you said low pop? shouldnt i pik a high pop? so i can be where the action is!

There's plenty of action on a low population server as well. The advantages are that you won't spend as much time waiting for bosses to spawn because it was just killed by another group. You won't ever have to wait in line to get onto the server because it's full. You won't be stuck unable to do anything for long periods of time because of a lag spike.

The low population servers still have lots of people on them. You'll have no problems finding people to group with, and there will still be plenty of raids and such for when you want it. I can't think of any real disadvantage to being on a low population server.

You'll still need 2 copies of the game - the collectors edition gives you 1 copy and a 10 or 14 day trial. You'll still need a second copy.

Join a server with LOW population!  You'll thank me later!

High populated servers get queue lines during peak hours.  And the server I've joined which used to be Medium 3 months ago, is now High!  Luckily I still have not seen any queue lines whatsoever on Earthen Ring (probably cause it's a roleplaying server)... but to go from Medium to a High populated server in just a few months, it can only keep growing.

besides, low populated servers are so much better.  You'll have less farmers, and don't worry about never find any groups, even the low populated servers have thousands of people playing to group with.

The one and only downside I can see to a low populated server is since there are less (or none) farmers, it means less people are selling rare items at the Auction Hall.  And if only 1 person manages to sell a very uber rare item, they can put it at whatever price they want and it'll sell.  Higher populated servers will have lower prices since everyone is competing with one another to have the lowest price.

No, you need two seprate cd keys. You're better off just buying two from amazon then one colectors edition if you can still find one.

That's probably because Argent Dawn is filled to the breaking point.  There are lots of people who want to roleplay.  Unfortunately they all want to do it on AD.

I moved to a (much) lower pop server the last time they opened new servers.  I gave up two 40+ level characters.  And it was worth it.
