Hi all,
Decided to register today after years of reading the forums
I'm hoping for a little bit of advice regarding the collector's edition of Age of Conan.
I understand the new xpac is due out early May, which I have no problem waiting for, however, having looked around I still see copies of the Collector's Edition of the original game which I'm extremely interested in due to the little extras (Art Book, Map & In-Game Items).
To all those who have experienced these "bonuses", are they really worth it? Personally, even if the In-Game items were taken away, the Art Book and Map are still very attractive to me for the extra ££. I guess what I'm asking really is are the In-Game items really all that? On paper, they sound great... extra experience, free drinks from the cloak etc...
What I wouldn't want to happen is to buy the Collector's Edition expecting to have these extra In-Game items only to find out you can actually get something exactly the same or similar, by simply playing the game.
Can't really explain it any better than that to be honest, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at
Looking forward to your replies.
Thank you.

The in game items are not all that great really from what I have seen. The drinking cape allows you to get a drink from most taverns that makes your character wobble around drunk for about 30 seconds, during which you can (if male) urinate like a drunken idiot. You can only carry one of these drinks on you at a time, so the fun is limited.
The xp boosting ring did very little to boost xp from what I was told, so it wasn't really worth it.
basically, unless you can get the collectors edition for a little more than a months sub, I would pass.
The ingame items is not that great, you get better items with the expantion. The artbook, map cd with ingame music is what you pay some extra pounds for it.
Thank you both for your replies.
I can buy the CE for roughly £35. BUT, I can buy the SE for £5 having done a little more hunting on the internet.
I'm most likely going to just purchase the Xpac and be done with it.
Its a shame I can't purchase the Map and Art Book separately.
Thanks again for your replies.

Been buying these games since UO's release, never seen anything yet on any CE that persuaded me to shell out extra coin. The only thing CE's do in my opinion is lets the publisher "collect" a bit more of your coin.
I miss DAoC
Well... I bought the Might of Crom package now for expansion. Some good stuff in there.
The Ultimate Breakdown
How much is the Might of Crom package in the UK do you know? Theres some nice items in there mainly the gametime and Xp pots, but the price seems absurd for a few digital goods without the game. It looked like it'd cost about £40-50, ontop of the £20 for the expansion itself? Maybe if it included the expansion it'd be worth it...but 40-50 just for some digital items seems pretty steep.
It's all included. And you have 60 days free gametime aswell with that package.
The Ultimate Breakdown
But you have to buy the expansion first for that package to even show up, right? Meaning your paying £20 for the expansion itself then at least double that ontop for some digital goods.
Might of Crom itself comes with 60 days on top of what the expansion includes.
Might of Crom also includes items from the other optional upgrade (Tortage something, I forget it's name) except the pots, and gametime.
The new pet from the preorder is nice by itself. Gives a choice of buff.
