I am simply just curious who Trion is?
it seems like they producing 3 mmos at the same time, so who is backing them? either they have the money to produce 3 good solid mmos at a time or they are all going to be poop.
also from a business perspective, seems a little ilogical to produce 3 mmos to compete with eachother.

One is a action game, another RTS and third a RPG so they don't need to worry about competeing with themselves as for money, who knows.
they are still all MMOs. I wouldnt really say those sub genres are that big for it to have an exclusive market. i am curious about the statistics, but i know a lot of people only want to pay for one subscription game at a time, maybe 2. otherwise its just a waste
does look like an attempt to corner the market though, a huge undertaking, they will need a lot of resources to do it well.
Supposedly they have raised a $100 million from investors for their three MMOs. The quality of the graphics of the video seems to back up that Rifts will be a big budget AAA MMO. Add in the changes since Hartman arrived of moving from 3 to 8 races and at least 12 classes and possibly as many as 32 and one can see they are moving towards releasing what they hope is a game that will be able to compete with the big budget games in development.
But to answer your question about producing three MMOS simultaneously. I don't think anyone belives that they are doing such a thing. People have said that Trion's main and number one goal is Rifts (what used to be HoT). Speculation is the other MMOs are just there in a package to help with fundraising. Its a marketing thing to package three ideas together to raise funds rather than just Rifts. Keep in mind they have been working on Rifts now for roughly 4 years and its way ahead of the other 2. The bottomline is if Rift fails there will not be any other MMOs from Trion. If it does well then maybe they will look at developing thier other ideas.
Edit: I take back waht i said as there is a preview up now with SS of the RTS MMO game on MMORPG.COM.
