On the other hand, with WoD, all I ever see is "hey, any new news about WoD?". It's interesting to see the two approaches to marketing and how they are working out for each developer. Leaves one to wonder how the numbers would change when CCP starts marketing/hyping WoD.
It will surely get more people looking at WoD, but the proportions of those who enjoyed previous games from the devs, and will favour them will not change much i think.

Seriously Farmville? Yeah I think it's great. In a World where half our population is dying of hunger the more fortunate half is spending their time harvesting food that doesn't exist.
knowing CCP, i would trust them to make a game where people can play monsters.
Agreed. I think it'll be easy for them to do so too since the World of Darkness is full of monsters. The World of Darkness is after all full of vampires, werewolves, and other great supernatural thingies.
I'm looking forward to what CCP comes up with on this one... I think it has great potential for in-depth stories for the PvE fans, as well as intense faction-based PvP with enough factions to keep it interesting.

. So we'll see; I guess no one is really sure, since the poll is split 50/50.

I'm going to guess a that the reason youre seeing TSW clips/trailers etc is they have investors to think about. Meaning the more hype they generate the more money comes their way.
CCP on the other hand, if I remember correctly, is not a publicly traded company. And so answers to only themselves.
But when CCP releases an official trailer of in game footage, I promise it will be mind blowing. The fact that CCP has been moot on releasing anything, after they announced that "yes we are making a WoD MMO", leads me to believe that they arnt just going to tease but are going to drop a bomb, a big f'n bomb on the MMO community.
Rumored to be developed joinly for EVE's walking in station and maybe, just maybe WoD also. One thing is sure, thats not any outfit that is part of EVE's cannon.
Please excuse the language, only link I could find in 720HD. Just make sure you click that option.

A mmorpg based heavily on works of H.P.Lovecraft and E.A.Poe, which was in development for more than 6 years and has Ragnar Tornquist(The Longest Journey, DreamFall Chapters) at the helm.
VS
A mmorpg based on roleplaying game and about which NOTHING is known for certain and this mmo will most likelly have a random guy at the helm.
Actually, WOD will be using EVE's engine. So I'm not sure why the OP thinks WOD doesn't have an engine.
I havent hear that. As a matter of fact I think thats 100% wrong.
I remember at one of the past fanfest that a Dev mentioned that WoD would be created from the ground up. This was posted on the EVE forums after CCP comfirmend that they were making the game. I'll see if I cant find that post after I get back from work. Its around a 2+ year old post.

They're both interesting concepts. I'm more interested in WoD myself than SW simply because I had some friends that played the game back in the day so I know there's a lot of lore to work with in WoD.
Wasn't real impressed by the trailer for SW but it is just a trailer after all. Rather lame first impression though they've provided for viewers least in my opinion.
Here's hoping Funcom actually has some sort of customer service in place for SW when it goes live unlike when they released AoC. Of course, there's a multitude of other things one would hope weren't present in SW that existed in AoC but as others said it is a different team developing the game.
Of course, in all fairness, there's so little out about CCP's mmo who knows really? May come to pass that WoD never even comes to fruition for all anyone knows regardless CCP's intentions. Time will tell I guess.
1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.
2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.
3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose.
Another game from Failcom or a game from CCP based on the gratest rpg system ever created? WOD hands down. There's no way TSW will be best than a rpg giant like World of Darkness. TSW have potential to be a good game, but i cant see it been so good as WoD, no way, IMHO only.
Hard to say, both have things that speak for them.
People trust CCP to deliver more than they trust Funcom to deliver, so that plays a role - although AoC isn't half as bad these days as some ppl think, but a bad rep is hard to loose.
But the Secret World has a genius theme, 'what if all the legends and myths appear to be true?' and this in a contemporary setting has the potential to be a great horror/urban fantasy MMO: I love Lovecraft, Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, and so far what I've seen and read about it they manage to stay true to their words that TSW is inspired upon the works of these authors.
When done well, or even half as well, it should provide great atmosphere. Plus they have Rondquist as game director, who did great stuff with The Longest Journey and Dreamfall. Next to that, I also liked the new approach towards quests or skills,
The video about CCP's graphic engine they'll probably be using for Incarna and WoD looked amazing as well. And I loved playing Vampire the Masquerade as well. So I'll probably gonna be playing both, but it's hard to tell right now which will be the better. Far too early for that.
Based upon the larger amount of information and videos released about TSW, I'd say TSW for now: I think it'll appear somewhat earlier than WoD.

WoD all the way. CCP is a better dev then Funcom. WoD is a farily well known IP among gamers.

I will try both and decide then. Both have good potential. Anything else is pure speculation and assumption.
