DARKFALL :D the skill based mmofps (for players wh are looking for games)

Well 2 months in darkfall, and since i finally found a mmorpg that i grown attach to i decided to give it some free publicity, would like every1 that hasnt found a mmo to grab their attention to try it out, if u have any flames ill be more than glad to give my opinion, i would like to remember there is the flaws, the grind isnt as bad as people tend to troll abou,t it takes 3 months to get to that Vet status, or atleast pvp solable.

so please check out the website, has adollar trial, i used it and was so glad about it, the griefers arent hat bad, but just remmber that people that kill you at the beggiing most are newbies looking for sme pvp, so after your first month ull be able to fight back, and when u actually kill your ganker, itll be so worthwhile , so any question be go on, because atm i think the only thing that this game needs is 1k to 3k more active players so every new payer counts ( been alot recently,)

I would never play Darkfall, but I'm glad it exists and I am glad you and other people like it. At least a few game companies have the stones to make something different. Now if they would only get around to making something I like.

I like PVP and Darkfall is the funnest game that I have ever played.

MY GF likes PVE and Darkfall is the funnest game that she has ever played.

You're judging this on the forums and race-alliance chat, yes? There are a hell of a lot of mature and helpful players in the game. I've been playing since beta so have a pretty good idea

Agree with OP DF does not have much publicity and it is really an awesome game. I am on my second month as well and loving it. if you are joining up give Omirag a tell!

If it had regional instead of open PvP I would give it a go. But thats why many support the game, you can't tailor a MMO for everyone.

Won't say the game is bad, not to my liking, but not bad.

Don't see it as a skill based game either, not many are. Twitch based-yes, skill? Bunny hopping, running side to side as fast as you can is called skill nowadays? It's whoever twitches faster. lol

Kidding aside, if those of you who play it like, great. No harm in trying to get more to try it. GL with it.

I havent tried it yet but I want to :-) I enjoy pvp but not so much ganking, so I don't know if I will like the game much.

for scot , what do u mean by regional ? techincakky near your hamlet u will be raided lolz

and the ganking part of this game is what gives the adrenaline rush, the idea of claiming your prize after a 3 min fight , i can shwo u a vid of a 1v1 in wilderness that lasted literraly 9 min, but shows so many aspects of player skill

and it is twichty, moving side to side,who has better aim, ( handicap for mages atm for this) but imo its a nice element , an far superior than tab targetting

i do beleive its a great game, the expansion is coming soon , so i really feel some free publicity is worth it, just dont be intimated by the ingame forumms, just people who troll all day after they get ganked

DFO isn't my style of game ( a little too open and I am sorely lacking in "twitch" combat skills) but glad to see people enjoying and promoting the game.

I hope it does draw in some new blood, every MMO needs a steady influx to keep growing over the long term and the genre needs to see alternatives to what the big houses produce succeed so others will dare to be different.

Wicked game man, personally I plan to stick with it until the servers shut down and force me to stop playing. Theres tends to be alot of bad publicity but keep in mind that this game can be totally different for two people. Its all about your mindset and how you approach the game when you login. I'm about 4months in and each night continues to get better and better as I skill up. Since starting I have 0 interest in any other MMO..Unless something similar to DFO comes out I don't expect to ever return to games such as Aion, WoW, or AoC. My search for my ideal MMORPG is over.

To those complaining about the community, what the hell ou expect when you pick an evil character? I picked dwarf and the player base is awesome, probly the best I've seen in a MMO.

My GF gets ganked only about 3 times a week or so and plays more than I do. During our first couple months we were a lot more careful and only died maybe once a week or so. PVP is not all that often and can easily be avoided if you are smart about it. It can also be found when you want it as well.

And yeah . .. the last time that I played I fought a guy for about 15-20 minutes and it turned out being a draw. My GF was with me and we kept getting split up but he couldnt kill either of us and he was not landing nearly as many melee hits as me (I use polearm and have a lot of practice with kiting), but every time that he was close to dead he would cast confusion which was at 75+ (blind for 8 seconds or so if you do not look away). His skill were much higher and the fight just would not end!!! It ended when he ran out of regs and took off and we lost him. At least we killed both of his mounts during the battle and we still capped the village where he jumped us . .. hehe

Can't wait until we catch up in skills!! His meteor was crazy damage! Will be fun stuff. We do not really grind at all, just play for fun and do decent in PVP.
