Craft of Gods is a new MMORPG with RvR, housing, open classes and crafting. Need I say more?
I was able to OPEN BETA test this game (www.craftofgods.com) and was very impressed. The game has only 1 drawback.: Graphics are not super-next-generation, if you know what I mean. Other than that,
RvR with 2 factions and a "balancing" neutral faction.
Huge crafting system
Housing
Class-less system in which you can pick abilities and create your own class
You can grab almost any animal around the world and "charm" it for it to become your mount. I had a goat and a cow
Another website, and I hope here I'm not breaking any rules, but the website in my signature provided some "Initial Impressions", if you want to get more of an idea of what the game is about. MODS, if this is against the rules, simply delete this paragraph.
Anyway, the game is scheduled to launch May 27th with 2 more OPEN BETAs coming up, the first on April 29th. Check it out!

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised when messing with CoG this weekend.
With some tweaks and bug fixing this could be a real dark horse in the sandbox sub-genre.
Playing: Rift, LotRO
Waiting on: GW2, BP
I am NOT a graphics whore, but this thing was UGLY. I mean REAL ugly. When people say things like "not super next generation graphics" they mean it looks like a ps one game.
Well, liking something can be subjective I guess. Graphics weren't Terribad and gameplay and potential is good. But well, to each his own!

As April 29th approaches for Craft of Gods next OPEN beta event, I'm getting excited. If anyone is interested in blogging about their CoG experience, let me know!

Danger will robinson, danger!! I noticed in some of those screenshots that I noticed Dark & Light spell icon art being used (O_o wah?). Out of all the mmos that have launched since I've yet to see them use their EXACT same spell icons. Just sayin >.>;

I installed and played CoG for a few hours.
I also bought FFXI online for 11$ and installed it. CoG has a slightly larger color pallete, but seems to be using the same or similar engine to FFXI online.
A) Interface is buggy
Text is localized poorly
C) Graphics are low-quality and out-dated
It does appear to be a great sand-box style game. Tuning seems to be light as my level 1 guy got into battle with a level 7 goat. The battle was longer than other MMO's and the mechanics led to me being at 10% health while the goat was at 75% health. I was able to run away without the goat being faster than me and eventually the goat gave up the chase.
There seemed to be limited quests, but I could not get past the bad graphics, buggy interface and localization issues. I can sacrifice one of those if the others are extremely well polished.
This game reminded me of Ryzom. Great concept for those who don't mind a craptastic client to interface with the game world with. I personally do not want to invest time into a game that is outdated before it launches. One of the keys to MMO games is the community aspect and a sense you are not playing alone. Bad interfaces, graphics and translations tend to keep the community size limited as many also just "pass" on games with those issues.
So my fear would be the servers are empty, dead or the game just gets shut-down in 18 months. About the time I actually start to get anywhere in the game
