The 2009 movie showing another character created by Robert E. Howard.
Since some of you guys are real familiar to REH's works, i thought this may be a good place to ask if anyone of you has seen the movie. I hope the mods won't be too hard with me for this OT.
I don't know any of the books of Robert E. Howard and haven't seen anything else than Hollywood-Conan in the 80's. But I read alot that you people say that both the movies and the game didn't catch the dark and brutal world illustrated by REH well enough and just to an extend. Since the movies and the game are both quite brutal, i was wondering what you people meant with that.
After watching the SK movie last night, i think i finally get an idea of what you were talking about. I found SK to have this certain rough, dark and brutal setting in it's very very unique and immersive way. I absolutely loved this overall theme and though it may not be the most expensive production, i have to admit that i found it epic at times. If AOC would have more of this, i would resub in a minute.
Just some thought from a new Robert E. Howard-fan.

Solomon Kane was a good film in my eyes. But I disagree regarding Age of Conan not exspressing Robert E. Howards darking ways. Funcom has done an excellent job regarding the whole dark, epic and gorey themed Fantasy that Robert E. Howard created. Its not an 18+ for nothing ;-)
Also there is a new Conan film in the works supposedly.
'Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing'. - Robert E. Howard
The movie sucked. I thought it was going to be good but if nothing else the end ruined it. Total LOTR ripoff and what's bad is by now even the idea for ripping off lotr movie fight sequences and characters is nothing new. So it's a ripoff of a ripoff. Bad
