General: Nexon Acquires Ndoors Corp.

Nexon has announced the acquisition of Ndoors Corp today, revealing that they have acquired 67% of Ndoors' quota, including the shares of former Ndoors chairman Seong-Mun Kwon, and have incorporated Ndoors as a subsidiary of Nexon.
Ndoors was established in 1999, and is most well known for their popular free-to-play turn-based MMO Atlantica Online, as well as the recently released WonderKing Online.
What does this mean for players of Atlantica Online and other Ndoors titles? We'll be looking to find out, so stay tuned!

Heh...maybe they will make Atlantica even more cash shop reliant? Or stop the cash shop items from being buyable with in-game currency?

Nexon taking over? OMG we're DOOMED! Nexon sucks, they are complete cash shop hogs and care less about customers. I wish someone would take Mabinogi and Mabinogi Heroes from Nexon.
Nothing good can come from this. I pitty the Atlantica Players. Better hope Nexon doesn't take a 'hands on' roll in managing Ndoor's games.
This is the biggest "OMG" moment ive had in a while, Nexon is going to ruin Atlantica. It was fun while it lasted, RIP Atlantica.
I want to mutter *urk...* but some of the stuff I seen in SMT is no worse that the 'chest lottery' of Atlantica. Well, the prices can be insane. Anyone who pays upwards of 80$ for a single item deserves to pay my bills instead.

well I guess considering that ndoor's sold over 67% of there company shares to Nexon seems like a sign that "the way it was" that most of you are talking about wasnt profitable for the company to continue without dying unless nexon made am offer ndoors couldnt refuse and got greedy, then that means they also cared more about profit than its customers and would eventualy have failed anyways.
If worse comes to worse and you dont like what happens you can always go play the game on IJJI's site but honestly I dont think IJJI is any better than Nexon.
I wonder what is going to happen with the Atlantica:Troy expansion being put out by Hangame/NHN

Oh....no....well, I guess it makes me feel better I deleted Atlantica off my PC.
What''s the skinny on Nexon though? Because NDoors raped Atlantica after the first 7 months. They nerfed and item mall whored to the point that 99% of original players left. I am actually thrilled there could be a possible change in the way Atlantica is ran. It could be worse, but at least there is a chance now that the game will listen more to the players and make it a wonderful as it was at the beginning? Here's to at least a spot of hope in the situation.

heh, the GM's finally got sick of my shenanigans and hit me with the ban hammer back about the time everyone was defecting to J-AO and they started up the volunteer forum moderators.
I for one (i guess 2 since you beat me to it) am happy about this, Nexon runs their cash shops a bizzillion times better than Ndoors and thats the main thing raping AO.
no one should be surprised about this: J-AO (the Japanese version of Atlantica for those not in the know) was Nexon's baby, it had a cash shop 10 times cheaper than the international version and none of the S#!tty nerfs either.
the whole reason nDoors did as well as they had been was because Nexon was one of their major partners and was virtually propping them up in the beginning. my guess is that Nexon had too much time and money invested in nDoors to let them follow through with the ritual suicide that they had been attempting for the last year.

This deal made it alot worsed because N-Door team are gonna put an Non-NA IP block on which I can't play atlantica online anymore.
Ijji's (Atlantica Online) as you put it, is NDOORS's as well. The only thing Ijji contributes, is its userbase, and Virtual Currency exchange.

I've played Atlantica Oline, and I was completely unimpressed. It was just not my kind of game maybe?
I play Nexon's FPS, Combat Arms, which is one of the best F2P/transaction FPS gmes I've played ( in a pool of at least 5 others).
My sum reaction to this news is a heartfelt shrug.
Well if it results in less grind I'm all for it.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Knowing Nexon, they won't make stupid moves and should they ever "touch" the Cash Shop, expect a better cash shop. As for Troy, I remember hearing about it and thought it was an MMORPG by itself and not an Expansion? Since it's a complete gameplay revamp afterall....
Guess that explains why I can't get onto Atlantic now. Was required to change the password and since then have not been able to get on game and play. My son is having the same issue.
