I am so glad that they ditched the Companion system. I never liked having to coordinate myself and the heros or relying on NPCs to play. Always thought that the Hero system kinda killed the grouping aspect of GW. Enough ranting..scalable content..a very very big yes. Glad to see that they are also finding a balance in their skill system, hope its enough to please a majority of the people. I am one of those that was always experimenting but never really settled on any good builds of my own. This should make it bit more easier for me.

Good Job on the find, however, no new info was actually given which makes me dissapointed. Even the question about doing non combat stuff like cooking, crafting, or fishing (which i though was the most important questions asked) was answered by giving us information we already knew-stuff that did not answer any of the elements asked in the actual question :(

Pretty excited about this title. And this time around, the hype-train for me is being conducted and ran by myself. Hopefully I won't get myself up in expectations just to be let down.

based on the last two question, I feel there is no crafting,,,,,,

or they really don't want to talk about it--that means they are planning some thing very new for crafting.....

What will be the case? really wondering

I couldn't care less about crafting, however I'd have to agree with your concern that they are focusing on other forms of non-combat activities, rather than crafting.

From what I have read, I don't really care for the loot system.  I realize it's supposed to be fair, and it may be somewhat necessary in a completely persistant world, but it seems kind of carebear to me.  Other games have found more simplistic approaches to addressing this issue, without the need for a complicated system of who contributed what to the fight.  I also don't like the fact that there are no instances.  I definitely think that far too many games rely on instances for the more substantial content, but dropping them all together sounds silly.

Of course, I am still anxious to see how the game turns out - they pulled off some unconventional game mechanics pretty successfully in GW1.

...the professions that do use pets...

Sounded pretty good to me, they are clearly breaking with Guild Wars (1) on a lot of points which is promising. But what really caught my attention was the quote above. Now it may be wrong, but if we assume it's not then there will be more than one pet class in the game. Definitely interesting. The most obvious one would be Ranger with pet. But what would the other be? Minions? Spirits?

Yeah, I found it funny how he avoids giving a clear answer to that question.

Eric: There’s more to Guild Wars 2 than our combat system – we have a wide variety of non-combat activities in the game. All of the major cities in Guild Wars 2 will feature games and activities that people can play regardless of their level.  You can slug it out in a bar brawl, test your aim in a shooting gallery, or ride the Smash ‘Em Ups at the carnival.

I'm just happy they realized that companions (Heroes for those of you familiar with GW1) are no longer going to be a focus of the game.  I always felt like it made an already instanced game feel even less sociable.

Also happy the devs are taking stands on certain ideas.  Really annoying when Dev's cave to players rants all the time.

A simple yes or no would've sufficed, he completely dodged the question altogether.

Well it has been said that gw2 will have a "robust crafting system". Whether thats's been scrapped or not we don't know but it's far too early to assume there isn't one. If there is one he probably chose not to say, to avoid being asked further questions due to the feature not being anyway near finished since A-net doesn't like to talk about unfinished features. As shown by them staying quiet for such a long period of time.

a simple yes can trigger a plethora of player speculations and unhealthy expectations that the devs want to prevent

Yeah, even if they said something like "we're not ready to discuss crafting specifics yet".

Completely ignoring crafting or considering it "just like any other non-combat activity" they mentioned that is featured as a mini-game for towns is what made me worried.

Interesting answers besides the crafting one which made me worried a bit, just remember these questions were supposed to clear a bit of the community doubts on the informations they have last week (which was A LOT, we didn't hear anything for a while except for the "we're gonna start releasing information soon(TM), please wait a bit more!"

Hopefully we'll have a bit of new stuff every week :)
