i need some help guys. I cannot figure this out and i need to know for my own sanity/sleep.

i just got this news maybe 10 20 minutes ago and i cant figure out how the hell this happened.
Here is teh scenario, you are a 38 year old person who has just been sentenced to 9 years in prison, for attempted murder. you are severly mentally unstable, to the point where you are totally insane without any reason or sense of reality. you are however brillant, in fact you graduated phi beta capa(top of the class absolutely is what im trying to say), so you are brillant, insane and either starting to serve or are now beggining a 9 year sentence in prison.
Those are the circumstances here is the thing i cant figure out. WITH only non lethal materials available in jail/prison(depending on how long the transfer takes) you are most likely under surveilance cus they know u are suicidal.
HOW do u try to commit suicide in such a way that you are now in the Hospital, because the jail/prison infirmary wasnt well enough equiped. in such a way that you are on a full respirator.
i cant figure this out because they dont let you have sharp instruments, rope, anything hard. i cannot figure out how this blood relative of mine did this. so i decided to let the 175,000 brains on this site figure it out for me.

newspapers can be rolled to a pretty sturdy/sharp point, could he have by chance been able to use something like that?

If he has no gag reflexes, he could of tried peanut butter.
Uhm...Other then that. Pretty much what the others said, some form of strangulation by using material around you. Tieing your shirt to your bed and strangling yourself, etc.

If he was able to rip his pants in some fashion, which, really shouldnt be that hard if he's a genious.
If he was able to leverage the weight of his metal bed frame over his pants, and then move his leg away with enough force he'd rip it. If the rip was long enough he'd be able to strangle himself with jeans.
If he was able to, he might have lifted the bed frame and have it drop onto his chest, or something like that. If he's on a respirator he had to have collapsed his windpipe im assuming.
So, it had to be something thick either around his neck that was pulled tightly or something heavy that dropped onto his neck. You choose.

atempted murder, ? trouble controlling anger, mayby, very few details there, other than presenting unrelated information that paints a positive picture.
Nine years, with US prison proceedures, that is, what, four or six years then parole. So, instead of doing your five years (1500 days) and getting on with the remaining 40 or 60 years... you are going to show them and kill yourself! Well you only live as long as your next breath, but after that is eternity where you have to answer for how you lived this life and risk coming back as a bug or evolving further up the food chain . (Humans are NOT the ultimate top of the pile in this universe.) Sounds like you still have alot of lessons to master.. being so smart and all, and having wasted the early part of your life, mayby in the remaining 2/3s you can actually acomplish some life-lessons!

What based on your pov would have been an appropriate punishment if you has actually "accidentally" killed the person.. plead insanity, or cop some other lame defence... and still try & get out in 5 to 10 years, or face the death penalty. Big difference between 1st and 3rd degree murder. Yes it is murder, is human life of some value, yours or the other guy. You seem to certainly hold your own life as worthless being willing to forfet it because you have to do a few years locked up. (must have been a bottle fed baby and only child.)

If you bite through your tongue and you arent caught for an hour you will bleed to death. It is home to a major blood vessel and slicing it would be like cutting a wrist.

im ruling out the drowing in toilet situation, and sink as well. and SHE didnt have a mirrior.
she somehow with no tools made an attempt so effective shes on a respirator unable to breath on her own. i can only think of a couple of scenarios in which you cant breath. 1. Severe brain damage(unlikely cus she would have knocked herself out before this), wind pipe destroyed, or ur lungs destroyed.
this is a totaly assisted breathing she has no ability to breath on her own.
BTW the reason i rule out the sink and toilet is there sinks and toilets wont fill up enough to drown urself in their designed like that. and the ripping the clothing i dont think u can make it so u cant breath with those. this has to be something bizarre, and totally new.

I already told you, just do a sawn dive and have a mouthful of floor. If it doesnt break your neck it could tear your windpipe something good.

Now that's a humiliating way to die.
Considering that she is not breathing on her own, she possibly has brain damage. She could have banged her head just right (more than likely the back or the top of her head). If hit with the right amount of force, and the know how, she could have given herself quite a bit of an injury without indications of external trauma. If the damage was severe, she could have bleeded internally inside her skull, which could have pooled blood around the brain. This going untreated for an extended amount of time could cause brain damage.
Ive got an idea. I mean, what if she punched herself hard in the throat? Ive hear when u are punched in the throat u get serious dificulties in breathing and u can suffocate if no1 helps u.
