I played SWG for about a year on Bloodfin. I governed and helped build the city hosted by the GAF clan. I miss SWG.......I quit right before the Jump to light Speed expansion.

My character was a Doctor and an Image Designer, both skills as high as they could go.

The combat wasn't that appealing to me, even though I did at one time have my character a TKM.

DAMNIT. Screw it, I'm re-registering tomorrow.

game performance and stability have been vastly improved (although i think lag will always exist in crazily crowded places like coronet), the gcw actually has meaning, and the players determine MUCH more in respect to the state of the server after the new gcw update. there is no more massive holo-grind (although people are grinding for jedi, people are actually PLAYING and not just mastering one prof to the next til they unlock, leaving most servers like graveyards).

then there's JTL, which i like. I prefer the ground game, but when i want to make a pantload of money, or just a get a break from the game, i go up in space and have a ball!

of course, the swg world is still a little pooped on, for the sake of what the player base wanted. there ARE lots of jedi running around (the good news is, you can be one if you're into that). its hard to get a feel for what time frame you're in, in respect to Star Wars. there is a lot more content, but not a whole lot of it makes you feel like the game is moving through the grand plot. (note i have NOT yet checked out the new quest i read about in the last update, so i might be taking that back in a week::::02::)

i know i totally sound like a raving fanatic, and every once in a while, i feel like one.

the game, which drove me to quit last year (and i loathed it when i did), has improved so drastically, i can hardly believe it.

i just hope they keep up the pace, the game is gonna double (in terms of crap to do, content, and overall fun, etc) in a matter of months if they do!

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

I would be interested to hear in what way it has gotten worse ?

IMHO it has gotten much better recently:

Being rebel or imp suddenly has a meaning and taking down enemy players or NPCs also suddenly has a meaning ... conquering planets is fun.

Many many nagging little problems have been resolved.

    Customer service has vastly improved.

Roleplaying event tools are the collest thing in 2005 so far.

There is much that needs to be done still balance wise (combat, profession) ... but i like the general direction SWG is taking at the moment.

SOE can actually be quite good when there is competition from Blizzard !

    Have fun

MxO = years of hype for a let down.

    Beta still is a wreck.

    Customization is junk.

The list goes on and on.

PS: Lets just forget about the 2 sequals...shall we? Anyone remember leaving the movie theater after watching the original? I do. And that feeling was absent for the 2 sequals.

not to turn this therad into a MxO vs SWG vs whatever thread....but yes. MxO is the biggest peice of junk mmorpg since Horizons, and if it wasn't for the matrix fanboys, it would flop worse than Horizons did. go play swg, run by a dev team that actually knows what the fuck they are doing.

LoL opinions are like assholes, everyones got one, and MXO may not be your cup of tea but im sure most will agree SOE is NOT a dev team that knows what they're doing.

Anyways if youre capable of giving SOE 15$ a month to SWG I dotn value your opinion on MXO since you lke to be spoonfed mediocrity ;)

    Destro,

Check out in deveolpment theres a good chance some re alocation of 16 skill points coming for image designers, the idea is for those that wanted to master music, dance, & id

at least enough points to put some where else .................. It will be interesting to see what curb brings about............

    sygmas.

How am I being 'spoonfed mediocrity?' There is no technical side to MxO at all. Once you create a character, it is quite static.

I really hope you're not a part of the beta...because then I could understand your hope. But if you played beta, and actually enjoyed it...then you're being spoonfed a huge blockbuster name brand to help a shitty computer game get a few thousand Matrix fans to punch in their digits of their credit card.

I'm actually tempted to come back too...I don't know why i left in the first..heh..if you don't look at forums you tend not to notice problems and you'll enjoy the game more.

Qoute: "I neva *ucked anybody over in my life, who didn't have it comin' to 'im, you got that? All I have in this world is my balls, and my word, and I don't break 'em for no one, jou understand?" Tony Montana

I am also looking back into the game. I played since the first day it came out. I quit a few times due to that i was extremely bored and all there was left was the holo grind. I am currently playing WoW and am extremely bored. I played SWG for about a year and quit a little before the expansion. i just need one solid point that will really pull me back into SWG because i love the realism and the interactment with other characters is most enjoyable. Please someone make me believe :p
