Except for the 'capture the flag' portions which I WISH alliance members or Horde members can place to be capture for ... wait for it.... F U N !!!
The idea of of losing your rewards cause you are flat out TIRED of this BS reward system stinks!
You win it you should keep it! Who the hell is gonna bother if your gonna lose it cause you don't want to be a looser all the time and be on just to keep your rank? Terrible exicution terrible award system and terrible means of keeping people busy till the REAL new content comes out.
For Hardcore players, rejoice! This is your chance to prove you're a hardcore player cause if you aren't l33t and ub3r, you won't be able to use that epic PVP mount and wear epic PVP armor and sword.
For casual players, bah... couldn't care less. Now where's my armor dye and player housing? Hardcore gamers are getting what they want, Blizzard better start announcing what's up next, and it better not be another thing for the hardcore gamer considering casual players are outnumbering the hardcore ones anyways.

So you want to keep rewards because you were loser(learn to spell it already!) only for a while, when others can be 'losers' all the time. Sorry, I don't want to see thousands of generals running around with uber rewards only because they finally grinded their honor points. Either you are active PvP'er or just wannabe who walks away as soon as he gets his phat lewt.
This is going to be ladder of competitive PvP players who can prove they are worth their rank, not another grind where everyone achieves everything eventually.
You may cry that you don't have enough time, but guess what - get over it and accept that peple who put more work just get more.
Uh, WoW has already appealed quite a bit to the casual gamer. Adding hardcore content is for the better. As far as ganking lowbies goes, they said they are going to add a lowering feature if the system is abused, meaning they already designed it and will implement it if need be. I think this is going to be great, frankly, but I still have far more anticipation for BG.
Why is there no penalty for geting killed in PvP? Seems like it will just end up being a grind ladder, and not a way to rank people who are actually good at PvP, especially since points can be earned by killing NPCs.

My apology to the spelling queen of MMORPG.com last time I checked I don't give a damn what you think about my spelling skills.
Now to something that actually matters. I don't mind loss of rank. But if you earn your rewards you should not have it lost the moment you get a life. Now mind you that I never even mention that I am a PvPer (I'm not) so this could effect me less. But you think for one moment that after a month of this drivel you are supporting that many PvPers isn't gonna cry foul your sadly mistaken.
Granted you could care less.
But the game is going the way of EQ since everything is ment for hardcore players with no lives and not the casual crowd which this game flaunts so much about. Is it that hard to put in something that would satisfy everyone? Rank can change per month granted for all those who are losers (woot I can learn!) and desire nothing but an ego boost from a game cause they cannot get it in real life. BUT to earn something and use it just to have it taken away cause you can't maintain you rank doesn't serve the whole it serves the morons who are gonna be the first one killed on the field cause the PvPers won't let them keep their rank.
Now you want to be targeted and blasted every chance you get cause of your armor go for it. But I see a new version of ganking. People WILL loose a battle on purpose to take out that guy in PvP armor and mount JUST so they won't be top dog next time.
Hmm maybe it be a good idea... cause then everyone will simply harass your char and maybe you'd get a clue.... in that case nm I have no prob and look forward to your harassment.

But to earn high rank you must get rid of a life first because of competitive nature of that system.
Looks like an interesting form of population control to me. Opportunists everywhere will flock to the least populated servers hoping that it will be easier to climb the ladder there. (Less competition = Easier win)
Hopefully, there will be enough such server switches that the population equalizes a bit. (Browsing the WoW forums is borderline depressing right now!)
Personally, I think the honor system has three major problems.
The first problem is that there is no reason to not just sit around and battle all day long totally oblivious as to if you die or not. The system encourages getting the most kills possible, not trying to keep from getting killed. Your best bet is just to get near and keep fighting and dying. I would rather the system encourage a little more intilligence other then just ganking as many people as possible. I really wished that they had tried to make a system that was a little more complex, and hence a little more interesting.
Second, on the PvP servers I think that NPCs should not count. If someone is on the PvP server, you can pretty much assume that they are there well, for the PvP. It seems foolish to screw up the ranking by letting NPCs count. On the PvP server, the honor system should only apply to PvP.
Third, it doesn't appeal to the casual gamer. I know, we are all hardcore here and don't give a shit, but WoWs sucess hinges on the casual gamer. The hardcore folks are the loudest on the boards, but they are pocket change when it comes to actual player mass. The guy who works 40 hours a week and has a wife is what is making this game all the money. Now, catering to the hardcore crowd is fine, but blizzard needs to avoid the temptation of losing focus on their core audience. So, while it is fine to see addition to appeal to the more hardcore crowd, but I think it would be a terrible mistake to lose their eye on the prize, which is the casual gamer.
The game needs to continue and expand for casual players. Throwing a bone to the hardcore players is well and good, but major additions need to be made with their core in mind. And by 'major additions' I pretty blatently mean battle grounds. If battle grounds don't match up levels such that everyone can play, I think that WoW has taken a direction towards their slow demise.

I woulda thought they woulda made its so you get dishonable for ganking lowbies, Other then that I think its good
All MMO's have grinds. If you don't like to Grind then MMO's are not for you.
