MMORPG Guild SERVER: Seradon - How to contact the forming group

ZorgoZorgo Member UncommonPosts: 2,254

/join mmorpg

Type this in your chat text line. You will see some channel info spam which should include the new channel number for mmorpg. For instance, mine is channel 3.

So next:

/3 blah blah blah

You can " /autojoin add mmorpg" to automatically log into this channel.

This should make communication much easier.

    Guild name is "After Hours".

You can do a /who After Hours and should be able to get online members. But that channel above is a good way too.

I'm in, I'll be on and off a lot the next week or so since I'm home sick. Fun times.

  • SovrathSovrath Member LegendaryPosts: 32,939

Here's a point of note, even though "I" and another member just got off at 3:45 am (that wasnt planned but when you are on a roll..." and even though the name of the guild is "After Hours", not everyone was on into the wee hours of the morning.

We have "about" 12 people and I think I and another have an alt on top of that.

So if you join the mmorpg channel and no one is there that doesn't mean people aren't on. I do tend ot watch that channel and I know others will as well.

At the moment there is a spread of people and their hours but the hope is to get  enough so that there are alwasy at least a few on at worst case scenario.

and you know, "no pressure". You join the game but it's not for you, no biggie. You join the game and want to join a hardcore rading guild, no biggie. You then want to come back? No biggie. Very casual, just people to talk with or to have some fun. if it works great, if not  "no biggie".

Funny though, a11:00 pm there were 40 people on the trial island and that only went down to 37 at 3:00 am.

So people definitely keep weird hours in this game. image

Most of the members of the guild are in this channel, and usually one person can log onto a main to invite to the guild.

Well I'm patching back to the full game as I type this, and am quite psyched to have found this info (actually from a reference in a post by Sovrath on the official forums...)..

About 67% through the patch so... hopefully not too much longer. The patcher can't seem to make up its mind whether it's giong to take another 3 hours or another 1.5 hours. Ugh.

Well, that's sort of a tough one.

I was going to say about to lvl 20 or so but I see that we have a few 50's a 53 and a 44 as well. Not sure if those are mains or people's original toons or "what".

My guess is that the bulk of the players will be in their teens to early 20's.

    Sov plays Vanguard?

    What happened to Aion?

Ontopic: I might check VG out again.  I tried it before, but my comp was crap, so it was not enjoyable at all lol

My god has horns.... nah, I don't think he is real either.

I'll return to Aion soon enough but this feels rather comfortable for me, surprisingly.

Back in this game as well.  Nice to see the guild was up to 50 last night.   Popped in a number of times over the weekend to see what the guild population was like and most of the time there were at least 10 and a couple over 20 on and playing at various levels.

I definately like the idea of this guild inviting anyone from MMORPG or basically ANYONE in the game that wants to be a part of it.

I re-rolled a Nec and made it up to 10 and off the isle this weekend.  Look forward to grouping with some of you outside the isle!!!

    Bregarius Laventhi - 10 Necro

Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.

I've been looking for a new MMO, and the number one problem I have is community.  This sounds like the exact game that I need.  Only problem is I can only dedicate a few hours a night to it.  Will that be a problem?  Also I can adapt well and want to know if there is one class the Guild really needs.  I just want to play a MMO with a community that actually keeps me playing.  I work full time, and may end up going for a masters soon so time might be low.  I figure if I'm accepted why not give it a shot and play with you guys.  Like I said I can adapt well,  I played rogue in WoW and it felt way too easy.  I enjoy healing so maybe a priest class.  Either way I'll download the trial soon and see if I actually like  the game.  Just looking for suggestions I guess.

I believe it is much more laid back than that.

There is no "we need to fill X class slot". You play what you want to play. When the guild was first started it was all tanks and healers.

There is also no "you have to play x amount of hours". If you are on you are on. If you aren't on then no worries, you won't be kicked for not putting in a certain amount of hours.

In the end it is going to be what the players make of it. It's a creaky game that is much improved from launch but still has issues that some players might find distasteful.

I used to get these small freezes when crossing a "chunk" into the next zone. The game is all open but it seems the world is divided into these chunks.

Now, they are far FAR less than when the game first launched but I will still ocasionally get them. I just roll my eyes or ignore it and continue. But I can easily see players going nuts over this.

I suppose what i'm saying is that any player who is willing to play the game with its issues is welcome, regardless of what class you play or how much time you can devote.

Hopefully this experiement will work. If not then nothing ventured nothing gained.

The exact way you presented this response gives me faith that I'll find a good place in Vanguard.  Alot of how people answer posts speaks volumes for their personality.  I will just try several classes and see what exactly I like...

Here is a question, In WoW classes didnt really come into their own until around 20 or so.  In Vanguard do you get a good feel in the beginning or does it take time for you to learn if you like your class?  Also your post made me want to go download the trial tonight and play it, like you said nothing ventured nothing gained, so might as well jump in.  It's not like I cant afford the 10 dollar box haha, or digital download rather...

well, I have noticed that classes seem to be a bite more baked the closer you get to 10 and even after that.

For instance, I had a heck of a time with my dread knight trying to kill this sort of mini boss that you have to do on the isle (zalazz). However, once you hit 10 and get this spell that teleports you behind the mob it the allows you to better use this sort of drain/heal that one can only do from the back. Thereafter I could kill zalazz.

My personal opinion is by lvl 10 you should have some idea how a clas plays. But you know there are exceptions. apparenlty the ranger gets to pick between a melee ranger adn a ranged ranger at lvl 10. So there is that facing a potential ranger as well.

The ability for necros to harvest parts from bodies and graft them to their pets seems to come after 10. I would think that would be important.

But as there doesn't seem to be a limit for the guild numbers I don't see any issues having a player who experiments a bit.
