Starting Mortal Online Tonight!

SarykSaryk Member UncommonPosts: 476

I will start this game tonight after work. This game sounds like it is right up my alley. No quick transport, no 3rd person view, full loot option in PvP (goes both ways). Hope it is good as it sounds. And I understand that it is still beta, so no worries about it.

Anyone here in a guild? I would like to test the guild functionality!

Also any hints that I might need to know? UI, settings, starting locations, etc.

MO is was fun game.  However, right now a lot of features are dissabled.  They are trying to solve their most critical problem,  desync.  So join if you want to see the very basics or want to help test.  However, if you want to have fun or see what the game is like wait tell they release another version.

My reasoning to get in the game is purely functionality.

If I can get into just the character customization and just make one character, I’d be happy, I can spend hours customizing. But eventually I want to see the world, how it runs, see if it is fluid.

But as for SV doing their test, I would be happy to help. No judgments from me, at least until after release.

I've been creating a new char everytime the server comes up and leave him logged in til it goes down again. I figure as many logged in people as they can get, right?

I wouldn't give MO a high rating for it's character customisation in terms of looks however the bloodline system is great.

Also the desync is now gone meaning the game can get back on track soon :) Yay (We also have new content!)

    LOL what? image  http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/41762-desync-feedback-thread-3.html

Even IF the desync was gone, how would you know it was fixed?  Most of the game features are disabled and server is hardly packed.

    I win!!! LOL@U

  • Good luck, OP. You will need it.

Unless you are specifically interested in testing desych  I would not download the client.  It is possible that there is a new build to download to test it again.  You may not be able to patch up and the current round might end any time.

Great game and give it a shot. . but unless you are seriously wanting to do some testing that could be frustrating I would wait a bit.

Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!

Blizzard only includes subscriptions in their subscriber counts. Why don't you read sometime?

Hey now..  maybe SV isn't going to stop with  just the pre-order folks.  Maybe they plan to try and bill all the open beta and forum  people.  Send them an email saying they owe $15.....because SV assumed they wanted to keep playing after launch...

This...  That is a really sad statement TBH to say the desync is fixed when even the developers say there is still desync...

But fans will ignore that...  Impossible to help those types of people...  image

So what is the subscription model in the Chinese market (where half of the accounts come from)?  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_of_Warcraft  What Xxeon says may not apply to all WOW accounts but probably is accurate for the Chinese half of things.

Well there is no desync now so they can begin to do things like reactivate features silly.

I had a very good experience last night, pleasantly surprised. I played about an hour and a half. Got to run around and kill  some orcs, very nice graphics. This game is on my radar for now on.

So... its a few weeks away from official release.

People are excited that they managed to run around and kill something for an hour. Wow... Seriously, starvault must be thrilled that their customers expect so little from a game.

    Still, not to worry, Im sure Star Vault have a to do list on their wall that will get sorted;

THINGS TO DO IN 4 WEEKS:

    1) Must add content to do the game

    2) Must fix Desync

    3) Must fix hundreds of bugs that render the game unplayable

    4) Must add all the features currently switched off to see if they in fact work

    5) Must contact lawyers to advise we will be leaving the country....

But hey, MO fanbois are more than happy to let all those things slide. So who cares, its only money!!!

Wait till the newness factor wears off. I expect even some of the most hardcore players to get bored after awhile. Happened with Vanguard, will happen here.

It's an effective tactic. Make the game so horrendous that just being able to run around and kill an NPC, a feature that has been in almost every game since pacman, suddenly seems like a major selling point. Could this have been a cunning tactic by SV, who now plan to introduce open siege warfare, inter-faction rivalry and epic dungeons to explore which will blow us away due to our (massively) lowered expectations?

    No.
