I am very impreesed at the whole concept about ArenaNet and Guild Wars.
I have only played and liked racing games until I tryed Guild Wars.
The thing that I like MOSTLY in the game is the Teamplay & the Gameplay, and that this game have a higher "age average" (if you can say that ) than other games. I'm pretty sure about this.
The Graphics are great and I love the stories/missions.
I tried PvP & GvG last Beta Weekend Event and it was great! maybe lvl 16 wasn't enough against all others at lvl 20 but I think I helped my team a lot anyway.
The thing that I'm worried about is that it has a LOTS of bugs (YES, I know that it's still on it's beta stage) but I hope they will fix all, or the biggest bugs before release date.
...and will ArenaNet keep this game big for a LONG time forward? I relly hope they have a smart plan for this thing.
I wonder if they will make a "barrier" so you only can buy armors for your level...? Anyone knows anything about this? Maybe it's just now, under the beta weekend events that you can try all armors just for testing.
Guildwars - WSC guild

Im pretty sure they still have a lvl req maybe i didn't pay attention but then lvls 1 can get lvl 80 al that is a bit whack

Gameplay.
I dont have to waste my time like in WoW(Running around between cities like an idiot)... I dont have stupid time sinks... costs for repair my items... idiotic prices for stupid transportation or mounts(which is needed because you run around so much).
no stupid sandwhich combat like in other mmos.
teamwork, skill and tactics required to win. not so level and item dependant like wow. this means that normal people can have a change to win if they are smart and know what to do. in wow your gonna get raped if you dont have the best items and skills.
you can only have 8 skills with you so you have to work as a team and you have to forsee what the enemy has of his 8 skills. this brings an unpreditable level of skill and involvment to the game. this also forces groups to really interacte.
no two people are the same. because people pick to classes instead of one.
if you play wow and want to be warrior and you want to use a bow or magic.. you cant. or you will suck.
in guild wars you can be a warrior and take mage or hunter as your secondary class. this allows a player to have his own play style and do the things he want to do.. not "fill his role" like in wow. stupid ancient class ystem.
in guild wars the level phase is not slow and boring. like in normal rpgs you can feel your getting stronger.
in games like wow it takes 100s of hours to reach lvl 60 just to waste your time and keep you playing so blizzard can have your money from monthly fees.
in wow most of the quests are boring "kill this", "collect this", "escort this" kind of missions. its fedex quests.. its not even quests. its just grinding where you get a reward.
guild wars have quests.
guild wars is quality over qurantine.
that is why guild wars has better gameplay.
OMG.....I love u for saying that (dont get ann funny ideas), 2 minds alike

In a poll I had started on the VN boards, (http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=83011884&start=83020170) the strongest aspect that attracted people to Guild Wars was the fact that there will not be a monthly subscription fee to play the game.
There were also some strong arguments for Graphics, PVP, and quests.
hmmmm, lets see what ppl think of that here
With fee i mean like $12 a month

well i cant really vote for either one becuase it scores about 10 in all really dont you think i mean comeon why even post this topic, this game is exce[toionally good no doubt about it.
lol very true, there are no limits to you buying good armour but there are limits on how you will get to the correct crafter, which i reckon balances the whole thing out
yea =/ but it is still possible for a lvl 1 to get armor but.... we probally will be around lvl 10 if he has guildies hulling him to ventari since you can just sit there and have guildy run to point a to b and get teleported
Well i played some games without lvl requirement, and some ppl made a second charater wich would be lvl 1 and there primair character was like lvl 60, and they just gave there old armor to that lvl 1......i was lvl 21 and got beaten by a lvl 1 in lvl 60 armor , THAT REALY SUX !!!

well thats true but still you can also change the playing field alittle like that in gw and a good thing you can't give me hand me downs
true, u got your point there.
But still i stick 2 my oppinion, coz: if there is a lvl requirement, u realyar looking forward 2 ur next armor, and cant wait 2 get it => lvling like hell, etc wich is also fun. if there is none requirement, then u only fight till u have or just buy and sell till u have enough money 2 get a new armor: example: KalOnline, i am lvl 12 and have a armor for a lvl 35...... where's the fun in that?

Hails,
If this game was designed so that the armor that you had on (I will say gear period) was the biggest factor in PVP and PVE, then I would be upset that armor requirements were voided. The truth is, however, that a level 1 with level 20 armor is a level 1 with level 20 armor without the SP to add to discipline areas or the skills to compete well. Until a person has completed a majority of the main quests, and has gotten to level 20 to max out available SP to use, he or she will be inferior to the other players. Armor is great, but it merely protects a weak character when put on a level 1 newbie build. I don't understand why the armor requirements were voided, but it doesn't upset me. As long as my Mesmer needs all it's SP to put into Illusion/Domination/Fast Casting to be effective, and as long as Wastel's Worry and Empathy are still skills that require me to use a Signet of Capture, my level 20 armor will simply be a minor aspect of my character's need.

I like it how the game runs so well even on not-so-up-to-date computers. It's amazing how much they were able to do for the graphics yet still keep the system requirements reasonable.
Of course being able to play online for free is a nice bonus, especially for a poor student like me.
I like the combat system. There is no 'to hit' roll on any attack, and there are no passive 'resist' or 'dodge/parry' skills. This means that even low level monsters in groups can be dangerous to the highest level character. And on the flipside, very high level creatures can be defeated by managing your skills and energy well. It's fun to go back to almost every area in the game no matter what your level and try out different tactics. In fact, there are areas not very far from the beginning of the game that are difficult for max level characters who like a solo challenge.
Well this game has it all what else can I expect from it, all the things that i like about game this has it.
Good gameplay, quests, excelent graphics and sound, hundreds of items, and probably the best thing is that you don't pay montly . Why in the world did people made montly payment games, do they think that we are sons of "Bill Gates" or kings to have money, im practically medium class lucky I have some savings to buy my alienware and a few games, but then I can't keep taking my parents money and keep paying those montly games they would get mad!!
For me it is the team-based strategy. I have been amazed at this aspect of the game. I like that you can engage in PvP from day one, unlike some games where you need to be at a very high level to participate. The strategy of choosing just 8 of your skills, and having 2 classes at your disposal is very appealing to me. The strategy is constantly changing based on your teammates and opposing teams. Despite some things I don't like about the game, this is the aspect that has me addicted and waiting eagerly for the release.
The graphics in this game are also exceptional. The best I have seen in any game I have ever played.
This game was not designed for the hard-core RPG fan. As much as I love the strategy part of this game, I would like to see more RPG elements. The instancing is nice, but I would enjoy having an area where you could meet other people while playing the game. I would be happy with just a few areas for quests that are not instanced. I don't think this is going to happen though. I can live with this, but I think it would make the game that much more appealing.
The questing is very linear in this game. I enjoy the group questing, and even some solo questing, but it is the same experience every time for every player. Again, I can live with this, but secretly hope they will turn the questing into some kind of Elder Scrolls MMO.
I hate the trading in this game. It could be so much better. From reading some of the forums, it sounds like they are working on it. I think there is room for some originality here, but I'll wait and see. I would be happy with something that is just functional at this point.
Character creation...well, at least it doesn't take time away from my gameplay. I would like to see more options. I look like every other monk out there, but then again...I suppose that is just like real life when it comes to monks.
I would definitely like to have more character slots. Four is just not enough for me, especially considering that the levels top out at 20. I only need a couple more....pretty please?
The mapping irritates me. Enough said.
With all that being said, I LOVE this game. I can't wait for 3/18 so I can play non-stop all weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes, and keeping my fingers crossed. You will see me there for 4v4, 8v8, and GvG.
well...coincidently....the...GUILDS
Sleipners Shop
