But the expansion would have to include an additional 60 lvls and content and the lvls would have to be harder to get, with a long term goal like 1yr or so to get the other 60 lvls.
Reason is I know its fast paced and you can get 60 lvls in like 2weeks? So I would like a challenge and be able to play for a long time without felling I reached the end game.
Anyone got any ideas if they are going to make a expansion with this? I don't and have never read the WOW forums since I don't play WOW, but I also don't want to waste my time on something that might not be for me.
I quit EQ2 after its FEB 17th patch, and EQ2 is pure junk. EQ2 is the worst and most disapointing game ever to be launched. So I take it Blizzard is doing very well as I see all forums with nothing but good about the game, then there are the crap ass EQ2 forums that constantly bash you guys and I don't know why, is it because they are afraid to leave a crappy game they paid so much for for a better one? Anyway hope to play soon but I want more of a challenge, game looks awesome BTW.
I hate to say it but its true WOW is the best MMO released in 2004, and surely on its way in top 5 of all time. Eq1 still being my favorite then Ultima Online, Asherons Call, DAOC and then maybe this one.
Again, EQ2 eat crap thanks for wasting my money on that disapointing NERFed up crap x 10000000 MMO. Grrr sorry had to vent that.

How can you say something like that?
I stopped playing wow because its a waste of time.. its just a grind.
great game with amazing graphics and music! good controls! nice pvp... nice talents, cool skills.
but the grind itself is a freakin joke.
it was supposed to be a game for casual players but their PvE ended up as a EQ light with long tedious 2+ hours instances and their pvp hardcore gear structure is now similiar to the pvp grind that is DAOC.
None of them are casual... reason why i wont play!
fact is that your not achiveing anything.. the only thing i get in a new level is a new rank in a skill I already have... WOW... im sorry but thats just the biggest ripoff of all time.
here i am... doing mindless killing/collecting/delivery quests with no story(they are not even quests - everything respawns and returns back to normal.. its not a quest if there is no progression and end!) and when i get a new level i get totally ripped off.
I feel the game should be speeded up allot.
long tedious running times with the freakin mount prices.
it is all made just so players can stick around for years wasting time instead of just having fun! i dont blame blizzard.. i blame all the FFXI, EQ and Lineage people who actually belive they are special/cool or achive anything from doing such a pointless loser concept as a grind.
this is how I see it though! I know many will disagree and thats okay.
I have a wife, a kid, a 9-5 job and its hard enouge to play when you want time to hang out with your buddies. its just too consuming and like a job, in my opinion!
Its really too bad because wow has so many amazing qualities! I think you should go for it. if you have the time why bother how long time it takes to reach max level? its a stupid number.. how can that be fun to look at a bar!
wow is totally gear dependant(most classes are not about skill, just gear and lvl) so go out and farm and run instances so you can get the uber loot - then procced to own them all in pvp and raise your self esteme as you pwn all the noobs with no valor armor or destiny sword. /spit at them and be a part of the amazing wow community. if you cant beat them, join them
Still WoW is the most casual of the MMORPGs out there, is it not ?
Although I have to agree about the Talents vs Abilities are not very well integrated. This is the reason why we have overpowered classes and very weak classes.
The abilities you get dont change enough no matter what talent branch you go for. IMHO
I dunno, I'd take a holy specced priest over a shadow priest with me into an instance any day.
Wow, so you're basically saying you don't eat, sleep, work or go to school. (coughNOLIFEcough)
2 weeks for level 60? People... I think we have a world record here! Give that addict a medal and write his name in the Guiness book, please. Oh wait, I think we'll need proof first... WoW may seem easy to a hardcore gamer without a life, but even a no life can't reach level 60 in just 2 weeks.
Just wait for Battlegrounds. Free expansion, all the PVP you'll ever need, and if you aren't "hardcore" you'll lose ranking and won't be able to wear your l33t PVP Armor and ride your l33t PVP mount either. That'll keep you busy.

Stealth - Ambush - Hemorrhage - Sinister Strike x2 - Cold Blood - Eviscerate - Vanish - Preparation - Cold Blood - Ambush - ... you're dead! :P
Johnark... A French player named Cau or something got to lvl 60 in 9 days. That was in european retail. I heard that someone did it even faster in America.
But those people played beta and maybe alpha already, so they know where to go and what to do. I don't think it is possible to do solo. So they must have done something like taking shifts with friends who also know a lot about game.
There is NO way though, that when you start playing this game for the first time you will reach lvl 60 in 2 weeks.

It's not official but I'd say you can count on Blizzard producing an expansion with a higher level cap and a bucket load of new higher level content.
It would be madness not to.

I don't want to see lelvel cap inreased, ever. Leveling in every MMO is just obligatory grind to indicate your progress, it also poor method of measuring it. We really don't need more levels, it's balanced as is right now.
All they need to do now is just adding content, especially instances that can be completed in stages, so you don't have to sit for hours straight.
Expansion could include new continent (most likely Northrend) and more different challenges - again not some new AA-type grind, just other interesting things to do beside instances and battlegrounds. New faction/race/class would be sweet too.
I can see where you're coming from there Zrazik.
I think you could be in a minority though. Myself, I like to enjoy the content and feel like I'm progressing somehow in the process.
I'll probably get to level 60 sooner rather than later. If Blizzard can make me feel satisfied without needing to gain levels after that then they've produced MMORPG nirvana!

Umm, the game's not over at 60. If your so hardcore then join a raiding guild.
umm, the game is over at 60 heh, unless you make an alt. pls prove otherwise
Don't get excited about a tax cut. It's like a mugger giving you back fare for a taxi.
PvP and crafting....if you're into that sort of "Gotta have everything maxed out" kinda thing.
I understand but its just not enough for me. A shadow priest and a holy priest should play totally different. They dont, apart from a few diff abilities they both will be casting the same spells. (diff efficiency though)
IMO DAoC had it right (in terms of abilities and specializations).
yes, it took 9 days, from a bunch of beta players which goal was to scrap the story/gameplay completely and just get to 60 as fast as ever. They were more than 1. they had turns. so they played, effectivly, 24/7.
I, in no way an hardcore player, that plays just couple hours a day and maybe something more in the weekends am 24. my friends are 34 as they do not have as many alts as i have ehehehhe
That is in 1 month.
So, no. it do not take 2 weeks to get to 60, but it won't take a year either. I prefer it this way
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
yes what we need is 5 lvl 120's raiding Tarren Mill to the ground ever night. The lvl cap will never go up unless they put limits on what the ppl above the lvl cap can do, so if you want a raised lvl cap your gonna have to settle for less gameplay. Your never gonna be able to help lowbie fellow guildmates build because if they get attacked by PC's ur just gonna have to stand there and watch them get stomped cuz there should be no way a lvl 120 should be able to attack a lvl 20.
Have you defeated UBRS/LBRS/Strat/Scholo/Onyxia/MC? Maxed out profession and faction reputations? Do you have your armor set, epic weapon, and epic mount? If you do I apologize, please post a link to your character so we can check him out.
In a couple months there should be a pvp reward system, battle grounds, and new high-end pve. You can also roll an alt as you mentioned.
Most people who complain about high-end content are complaining because it's not very casual friendly(which is true) hopefully that will be addressed in future content patches and pvp rewards.
If anyone actually bothered to read any information Blizzard has you will note that they have always stated the level 60 cap will be raised and that Hero classes will be part of that.
When that will happen of course is anyone's guess, but Hero classes are coming soon. It is on the official Blizzard website, if anyone can be bothered to actual read.
Actually they've never flat out stated that they'd increase level cap. But since it was something like "we may raise level cap" or "we do not plan to raise level cap at the moment" or other crap like the infamous soon, we can only speculate. And hero classes is going to be the new grind so rising cap can be in order. However then they'd have to completely rework talents since they are balanced around 51 talent points you accumulate when reaching lvl 60.
So lvl 60 will probably stay, just there will be other type of exp grind.
level cap was raised from 35 to 60 ( I believe that took just 2 months to recode) and I believe faction leaders (NPC's) were at lvl 99. What is to stop them extending the talent trees? They could still be balanced then, but that's a lot more work.
I hope to get to 60 while the cap is still 60 - that way I can say I maxed out my char! *snicker*
I don't have a problem with them raising the cap, except that the time and money spent on working on something like that could be better put to use making the existing world better (fixing lag issues, balancing issues, etc.)
I have heard of a few people quitting at 60 because there is nothing to do. These people have been 60 for a while and may have a few alts that are also 60 now (gasp), I doubt raising the level cap would keep them happy because then they would just reach that next cap just as quickly.
It's just frickin numbers, what they need to do is make a server where the lvl's just keep going and going and never stop, u keep geting the same stat boosts u do for the lvls before 60 and ur spells even go up ranks so Shadow Bolt can do 584, 203 Damage at lvl 2348.
I still dont see the point of raising the lvl cap, there's gonna be nothing to do, they have to make a totally new game for the lvl 60+. This is the same ol' fix that every other game does when players race to max out their characters and its the same ol reason everyone quits, cuz it ends up breaking everything below lvl 60. This is a PvP oriented game ppl, it needs balance, if you came to this game looking to have the uberest numbers then u came to the wrong game. Your not gonna make a name for urself by having the highest numbers, u actually have to do something worthwhile in the game.
It's funny how everyone says WoW is just the same ol game as every other MMORPG. But when they say they wanna put content ahead of numbers everyone cries "GIVE ME MY EQ!".
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
Firstly I'd just like to say that I think that there are some discrepancy issues inlayed within the way that we are discussing the speed at which people can level. For example my NE Druid is level 51. I have played for 19 days (Thats 19 full days of play or 456 hours), however I have been signed up to WoW for almost 3 months. When you type /played in most MMORPG's it tells you the precise number of hours played on that character. So when someone says they made level 60 in 9 days, they mean a total nine days of playtime (ei: 216 hours) on that character. It is not a reflection of how long they have had an active WoW account. My guild (who also played EQ1 to end game) has players ranging from level 60 to level 23, in EQ1 they all demonstrated that they were more than able to achieve endgame levels. To me this demonstrates that WoW is a totally different thing from EQ, or other MMO's for that reason. Yes it could be fast and easy to level, if you just did kill quests, and collect quests. But if you did this you would be missing out on most of the game content. I don't really care to much about seeing all the story arcs, I am an exploratory player and seeing new zones is my "Thing". So for me WoW is almost done (unless expansions come soon). I'd try EQ2 to see the zones, but I will wait till Im done WoW and until I can afford to buy the EQ2 game. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is a hands down falsity.

Q: Still WoW is the most casual of the MMORPGs out there, is it not ? -by Acaerus
A: I feel this is correct. AC2 was pretty casual to, though.
I have always felt that games should not be based on simple hardcore VS casual gamer models. This is to simplistic for all the different types of players and games out there. But WoW is a casual game if you are intent on achieving max level asap. WoW is not a casual game for real role-players, story arc hounds, item collectors (the item content in WoW is wonderful), or other types of players who are not seeking the fastest route to self perceived power. For me (as an exploratory gamer) WoW was a nice 3 maybe 4 months worth of solid and fascinating entertainment. Not bad for $140 Canadian if you ask me.

I'm just responding from the first post...but...cmon now, 1 year to get lvl 60? Most people don't even stay with the same MMORPG for a year.
Looking for something new.
Why oh WHY would ANYONE want to get lvl 60 in 2 weeks??!? Some ppl really dont get it: You pay a bunch of money when u buy WoW...and u pay money each month. WHAT are you paying for? You pay for EXACTLY the same thing as you pay for when buying any other game: The entertainment and the fun...with a mmorpg you just add the spice "Playing the game with other ppl".
Getting lvl 60 in 2 weeks, is JUST like sitting down in front of your DVD-player to watch the new Star Wars movie, forward thru the whole thing in 5 mins and put on a badge saying: "Ive seen the new Star Wars movie...YAY ME!"
IMHO its all about you and a bunch of friends going from 1-60 in as much time as it will take for you to immerse yourself into the fantasyworld and have fun. As for the immersion goes: The graphics for one are very detailed (no, polygon-count and lighteffects DOESNT dictate detail), the quests are often VERY well written and contains many small LORE-hints and amusing angles (well most do ), but ofcourse if u dont read the quest-dialog/description how would you know. Btw did u know that you payed for those descriptions too? I mean, its PART of the darn product!
The whole uber-being-the-best-race IS a part of the game too...its just a VERY small part compared to what WoW(and other mmorpgs) has to offer too. (Yes i know that this part comes more into play in the endgame).
in WoW i DO have to kill a gazillion mobs and (god knows!) run a gazillion miles. It just doesnt feel like it because WoW gives me reasons to do this, in small (and lots of) doses. WoW says to me (yes it speaks): "Go kill a bit of stuff over there, then come back here and i'll tell you a wee story, give u a prize, and let's see where u have to go from there, ok? Oh and btw, this story might be part of greater unfolding story, so there you go". Other mmorpgs (not gonna mention them, cuz it doesnt matter) told me: "If you wanna get to next lvl, go to <insert zone here> and kill until you ding..oh yea, and should you happen to pick up 1000 bearteeth on the way, i can offer you a bit of extra xp"
