Yes.. particularly those relating to the possible (likely) scam of ninja-subscribing all those pre-order folks who never chose a subscription. They still haven't answered, but closed the thread in the main forum and moved the other one to the ANSWERED QUESTIONS section.. even though it has no answer. A few folks have asked for an explanation from a mod on why an unanswered question wouldbe moved there.. but of course it's met with silence.
It doesn't really matter though.. this magical April Release has been an utter disaster and for the first time I am actually starting to think that they might just fold without even releasing. I always thought they would release and fail shortly after, but this is looking so bad right now that I don't even know if they will try to release...

I was referring to the posts that addressed the current state of the game. Not sure how they hope to fix the game if they delete the negative feedback.

I haven't been posting much over the past couple days not because I think the current comments are accurate but because there is no way to discuss the current comments without it basically amounting to "Did too!!" "Did not!!" level of argument. Anyway, I posted my response over at http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/3543056/thread/274828#3543056 to avoid getting this thread further off track.
Simply put, stop accusing SV of deleting negative threads unless you can demonstrate it or know of actual threads that got deleted.
The really discouraging thing about all of this for me is the fact that netcode tends to be one of the very most difficult things to get working correctly in an MMORPG. This is especially true in a game that utilizes FPS combat because it requires a higher amount of bandwidth per player than other games that require less frequent player state updates. Solving a problem like this could take any team a very long time and it is disheartening to think that SV did not properly plan for this. If coding the network solution for a FPS-style MMO was easy, I guarantee you that far more companies would be doing it...
That said, I still support SV and I hope they find success. I really believe in the game design they are striving for and I think it is much needed in the stagnant MMO genre. I just wish they had a little more resources and experience to help see it to completion.

Let's make it even more simple -- they have a team that wouldn't be able to fix the netcode issues because they have zero experience in network related code. The lead programmer for MO is an "Unreal Modder" by his own admission, and the rest of the team has almost no experience whatsoever. Do you expect them to be able to use tools like Ethereal (or whatever it goes by now, been a while) and understand the difference between UDP and TCP packet transmission? It's a complex task to learn, I only know the basics myself (enough to guide a project but certainly not enough to write the code), and people are paid a LOT of money to understand that stuff.
That's why they went ahead and brought a fully fleshed out network solution like Atlas. Atlas is being used by other companies successfully, albeit not in a seamless manner. But implementation of a high-end product like Atlas also takes an understanding of the underlying technology, which I don't believe SV has in its skillset as an organization. If I had to hypothesize, their problems are fundamentally rooted in the DESIGN of the game itself, and as a result the netcode simply doesn't jive well with their implementations. Their whole archictecture is built around a third party solution which they need their programmers to fly to Epic's headquarters in order for them to make it work. And even after all that -- it still doesn't.
The fact the site is down should tell you all you need to know about MO's longevity -- they can't even keep their own website up.
I bought the game in advance long ago hoping the game will turn out like they are trying to make it and it's an investment that may or may not pay off. It can help revalutionize OUR gaming worlds so worth the little money I dropped to help insure they can afford their endever. I am happy to see others have done the same but tire of reading about the poor people of our community insulting those of us that actually paid out of pocket that we waisted our money. Its to our benefit that all games make it in the market so that they and future game developers learn from each other to make the games we are all looking for in the end. If you think the game choices are bad now try finding games without investors and those of us that can afford to donate to our video game future.
nope u are not helping anyone here, u are a bad invester period. U are the reason why the mmo keep getting worse and worse each year b/c they know ppl like u will buy it and waste ur money on the box no matter how bad the game is.
QFT. Everytime you help set the bar lowered for a game.. you set the stage for the next group to lower it even more. IMHO this hurts the community as a whole. It's your right to do so, but it's my belief that it's a harmful action.
That last thing I would EVER encourage someone to do is "donate to our videogame future"...
i will donate a misly 50 bucks if it helps stop all these MMos like WOW.
i even pre ordered xsyon. and thats not doing that hot atm
Can we get past the absoulutely retarded idea that SV is a charity. You aren't supposed to "donate" anything. You are supposed to buy their game because you would enjoy it. Giving them money just reinforces the idea for game companies to sell preorders for their unfinished games.
I think it's stupid to hate on WoW, but if you really want to "beat" WoW then you have to stop giving companies free passes by buying their shit.
actully we have to help indie companys out because they dont have the resources blizzard does. no big company is goin g to make a good mmo except maybe square enix
Actually no, you don't have to help out anyone, and by not helping out anyone you drive the quality of all games higher, because the developers realize that you don't want their shit games.

Bullkaka. I don't help Blizzard, i don't help Bioware, i don't help EPIC, yet i get great games from them. There is a couple more comapnies i don't help that do great games.

Implying Blizzard started out in 1991 with a mountain of money and an amazing reputation before they actually did anything. Makes perfect sense.

Exactly, all the "big players" started off as small indie teams looking to make their mark, just as all major supermarkets started off as small, independent stores.
The reason they BECAME "big players" and didn't fizzle out in humiliation was because they didn't set themselves ridiculously over-ambitious targets, work outside their means and hope that their customers ease the deficit with pre-orders and donations. Blizzard get a lot of stick simply for being successful (as is always the way), but they at least are reliable and don't rely on spin to cover up their failings. When I pre-order one of their games, I know I'm going to receive a polished product in the post with all the features I expected.

Great point.
Blizzard didnt start out with Multi-million dollar superproject. They started with "The Lost Vikings"
Starting a MMO for your first project is like forming a building company with three of your friends and taking a skyscraper as your first contract.
