It has been over 2 years, since the tribes of the east charged into the depths of Antagarich with the hammers of fate in their hands, and we have no idea what Fate has in store for the denizens of Harmondale. Are we lost? Forgotten? Or perhaps the whole world is only a shared delusion, created by our wandering minds?
Maybe your feelings are the result of a spell cast by your enemies, to force you out of Harmondale? No! This magnificent world of might and magic could not be a mere illusion. You truly are a Hero of Might and Magic!
Heroes of Might and Magic Online (HoMM Online) is an online game that combines the classic elements of HoMM III, with the updated graphics of HoMM V, to present a unique gameplay experience. HoMM Online is a turn-based online game that puts the emphasis on strategic planning and tactical skill, while allowing players to socialize and create their own legends of glory!
You have 8 playable factions to choose from, with 16 classes and 56 creatures to use. After choosing a hero, you can learn more than 20 special hero skills, cast hundreds of spells, and partake in thousands of quests as you advance your path as a soldier for hire. The fact that it is online also offers you a wider opportunity to PK other players! We’ve built a special Arena to hold all kinds of PK Tournaments, to allow the bravest warriors to test their mettle. You can also ask your friend to play together, create your very own Legion, and learn craft skills to create your own unique Legion buildings!
Aren’t these wonderful? Want to experience the closed beta first hand?
May 7th is the day we put pen to paper, and write our own legend! It is said that we can claim the precious and unique closed beta codes, but the limited supply is running out! Freaking awesome! 2 days 1 hours 48 minutes till the closed beta starts! Fingers crossed for the best strategy ever!
So like, that is... 7 creatures per faction? Hm....
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)
So is this going to be real time or turn based like the game it was based on? One thing that disappoints me is that they seem to disregard HOMM 4. I mean it had a good class structure, with like 5 skill lvls, "basic, advanced, expert, master, grandmaster". Alas I guess this is what they"re going to do. I'll try it but HOMM 5 wasn't that great to me, and 3 was good.. but I liked 4 better.
Yes 7 creatures but you can combine factions in higher levels.
Those pictures looks awesome indeed but the pics I saw on their website looked like crappy asian cheap f2p game.
Going to try this out, but it definitely has the feeling of a AAA IP nosediving as a result of being done by an inexperienced dev team.
Same deal with Lords of Ultima, really. Famed IP, popularized by many AAA-quality games, driven into the ground through lackluster F2P gameplay.
But I'll give HOMMO a try before I criticize it too harshly.

Nah, most of those past "AAA" titles are rotting in graves they dug for themselves (fiasco like HOMM 4 & 5). Other AAA's are killing themselves in the process as we speak (DDO & Warhammer for example). So we should be grateful at all that F2P industry even bother to dig up this corpse and resurrect it as a zombie.
AAA = Adultered Alzheimer-inflicted Alcholics, and it describes very well whoever buying into that "quality" myth.
It's still AAA even if players like yourself feel the last couple offerings are weak.
Heck, I'm the one calling the IP AAA (which it is) and I've long criticized the series for being inferior to the better turn-based games out there (Civ2, Civ4, Alpha Centaur, MOO2, to name the big ones.) It's great that it went its own direction and all, but it never really provided particularly strong strategic gameplay. I don't outright bash the series, as I still find it's enjoyable enough to be worth purchasing, but it's definitely always been a step behind the champs of the genre.

why all the hype for closed beta testing? Do they not have enough testers yet?
That does not bode well if you are still hunting for players to test the game
Finally - Best site for Chuck Norris

I'm signed up for it and have already downloaded the client. I'm just waiting for time to pass now to play it. I have never played Might and magic before but I have played enough turn based games to know they are a hell of a lot of fun. Couple of my faves (I'm going waaaaaay back so hold on tight) X-Com UFO Defense from Playstation 1 and Ogre Battle. There are more but those I have the most fond memories of.
And what do you know, it is another of the same game. Except chinese.
2d everlasting grindfest run in a browser, broken english and chinese intro.
It's this all over again:
This game does NOT do justice to the HOMM series.
The only slight resemblance is the battles.
I have tried this game, I think it is cool.
I have tried it also. It was not what I thought it was going to be. I cleaned up my PC the other day and I took that game off. If they clean it up a bit , fix some bugs and make it a full screen game I will try it again. Until then I just put it on the shelf.
