I quitted reading after the cash shop
Heh, I thought this was a typo the first time I paid any attention. So, you're telling me someone in the industry actually named their company "Gamepot". Oh, the jokes.
Without checking, the Engrish company name suggests it's yet another Asian company that is now extending titles into the NA market. Dandy.
Played it for about 1 hour. Uninstalled already. It really makes Asheron's Call seem like cutting edge technology.
Not even going to bother, visited the main site and was turn off real quick. Too cartoony and looks like crap. Cash shops, another way for moronic devs who wants to make quick cash and get rich off of players who are too stupid to stop and think.
This game is extremely fun. It's hardly reliant on the cash shop. The ring shop and the cash shop don't offer any advantages over eachother.
@ Aemi, waste of time, the cash shop trolls never learn, they just assume every cash shop in every game works exactly the same without actually looking into anything, but of course playing unfinished P2P games doesnt make them say "Well this one P2P game sucked, so every P2P game must suck" and stop giving their money to the oh so saintly and kind hearted and unselfish devs of those games, cause only F2P devs are greedy and shady and milking you for every quick buck they can get. Hypocrits at their finest
For the rest of you...
Gamepot is not a new company, theyve released several F2P games over the years, a few pretty good ones, though not all. And the game was not made/developed by them, it was actually developed by FenixSoft if i remember correctly (some sort of branch of Square-Enix in Japan) . And was released awhile ago, Gamepot is just the publisher bringing it to NA. This is how nearly every Asian MMO works, especially F2Ps. Someone makes the game, they release it there, and then 1-5 years later a publishing company gets the rights to bring it over to NA and host it for us. Theyre basically just running the servers and support for the game for us, they didnt actually make it.
The technology/graphics may look old and crappy... well thats because it is. I believe the game was first developed something like 5-6 years ago over in Asia (at least it started then, and then may have launched in Asia around 4 years ago, i forget the exact timeline). Its not some new cutting edge graphics game, that was established a long long time ago. IF you can get over the old school graphics, its actually a pretty fun game, and its actually a nice conversion for someone who may normally be a console player as the game is designed around being playable with a controller and has customizable options for the controllers.
I installed it, played it for about two hours and then uninstalled. I suppose someone who has not been exposed to many of the better MMO's out there might thing this game is decent, in my opinion it is at best a low C or high D offering. I would not waste time downloading unless you are extremely bored.
i love this game. its got an old school look, but a new school feel. it doesnt have the useless/pointless story line most mmo's have, and it doesnt have the grinding that almost everyone hates. i can play for hours and each battle is different. its all about communication and teamwork (not always a good thing, but always fun).
the skill and class system is great. the rock-paper-scissors feel is pointless because its all skill based, but there is a small different in how well you perform agains the other classes if its 2 veterans playing.
overall id say this game is a must play if you love PvP and dont care about graphics.
Did gamepot used to be called Gamepotatoe a year or so back ? ... Just curious if any remember.

Although I likely won't play this game because I don't care much for PvP-centric games, I might download it for the music. Can anyone tell me if the music files are accessible, or are they proprietary files? Sakimoto is my favorite game-music composer and I'd love to have more of his music in my collection.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
i dowloaded the game updated it thjen pressed play then the game died after trying all the workarounds on the tech forums for 2 hours still nothing... plus apprently 1280x1024 is not supported can't be bothered to make it work
@bumfman I think you are mixing up Gamepot and GPotato(different company).
I think you're thinking of gpotato.com
For everyone crying about the cash shops: there is no advantage. Yeah, the clothing may be a bit more fancy, but it affects gameplay by 0.
Yup .. thanks for responding. You guys are right .. it was Gpotatoe. The names are pretty close hehehe
Work hard Play Harder
A good game actually... but still I would wish that making money is more easier than getting exp... and still the cash system is only limited to nations....
