Blizzard has announced that tickets for BlizzCon will go on sale in two batches scheduled for June 2nd, 2010 at 7PM Pacific and June 5th, 2010 at 10AM Pacific. Tickets will sell for $150 a pop, with the event to take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California on October 22 and 23.

For those of you who won't be able to make it out to the show, rest assured that you'll be able to catch it on Pay Per View (DIRECTV only) for $39.95 in full HD. Both days of the show will be broadcast, and the PPV event will include exclusive interviews, demos and more. Just like last year, World of Warcraft players who order the DIRECTV event will also receive an exclusive in-game item for the game, which will be revealed at a later date.

The official announcement can be viewed here.

Its just way to much money for info that will be free after its all over. No in game perk is worth that much money.

Actually, the stuff you'll get from the goody bag will easily cover your ticket fee after some time.

For example, attendants of last year (or 2 years ago) got a SC2 beta key. These were going for $300 on eBay when the beta started. And that's just one of the things you get in there, pets and other vanity stuff will also go for insane prices after a while.

i couldnt think of a good priceless thing to add thank you.

Oh, and oh boy i can go and hope they give a beta key to their new mmo so i can sell it, what incentive. I guess you can pay that much money and hope to make money off that stuff, but meh still don't see the point. Its all a way to rip off their fans, but i guess its their choice to pay.

Blizzard run Blizzcon at a loss (at least they did last year), putting on a 2 day show is not cheap plus its a weekend event, I would most def go if I wasn't in the UK $150 for a fun weekend is not so much.  You'll spend upwards of $100 to go see a band play for a few hours so $150 for 2 days of entertainment and just to be there in that atmosphere is great.

Although I do think the live stream should be free, maybe have a paid HD feed, but come on guys we all know we can view that feed by other means.  Just we wont get the ingame pet.. oh noes.

I'm sure that loss is covered tenfold by what WoW makes in those two days.

As for Blizzcon...i would like to attend at least once (if only to experiance it).  Blizz are known for putting on a good show and i guess it's more of a bragging right than a high quality show (E3 and other game shows are better in that respect).

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Erm, it is a fan event. Therefore your choice is to attend or not rather than looking it as a business opportunity for the attendees. While I may I hate Disney I do not disrespect the fact they run many theme parks where those who choose to pay money to take their families seem to have a great time. The visitors of this site who elect to go to something put on by Blizzard know what to expect- a highly priced fan-fest which is not a significant revenue generator for blizzard. Unlike the game all the fans are attending to learn more about.

There is no site featuring a multitude of complaints from former attendees. so this is no SWG-CU  devastation. So I am left with one question. What is the issue? Attendees turn up and seem to have fun. They are all gamers so people I hope are having a good time. They all have the  capacity to decide if the money they've invested is well spent and are free to post if there is an issue. They seem to be happy as I can find no big flame-fest on any of the obvious forums. So what is the issue?

It may or may not be overpriced, it may or may not be a profit-maker- unlike the game which obviously is, it appears to involve people who have actively consented to be involved so my hope is it keeps them happy.

    Have fun

I like how people trash talk about blizzard when more people go to this even than there are in most other mmo populations.

Well personally I'm excited. I loved the xpacs for WoW, starcraft, and diablo and this year is hopefully the first year I'll be going to blizzcon. I'm not sure why so many people love to bag on WoW, if you don't like it don't play it. For $150 and a weekend of fun I'm in.

Some just can not stand the fact that Blizzard makes a high quality game which millions enjoy, while their respective games muddle along in the shadows.
