MikeBMikeB Community ManagerAdministrator RarePosts: 6,555

Blizzard Entertainment has released a batch of new screenshots depicting the female version of the Worgen race which is one of two races to be introduced to the game with the release of Cataclysm later this year.

The screenshots depict the female Worgen in a range of armor types from cloth, mail, leather, to plate, and can be found in our World of Warcraft gallery. Keep in mind these images are a work in progress.

But they do have some awesome races, Tauren is my all time favorite race i ever played.

Darkfall has playable wolffolk. Called Mahirim after, iirc, the guards of anubis. Mine was named Ivan Pavlov, and the number of people commenting that it didnt sound like a Mahirim name really made me want to cry.

Oh yea thats right, vanguard does aswell actually, i even played one..

But they are not really werewolfs, they are more like wolfish people. They cant Transform from Human to Wolf mode etc.

Something just isn't right about them that I can't entirely put my finger on.  Maybe the eyes are something I would expect from a disney princess, where the male worgen look like they are ready to rumble.

Either way, not a big fan of the female models.

I see blizzard staff been playing mahirim race in darkfall...

Looks pretty lame to be a female version. But then again, a vast majority of the female races in WoW look like total and utter crap anyway, looks like whoever is character modelling at Blizzard needs to get a girlfriend to find out how to make a female race that's actually appealling to the eye and doesn't make you throw up when you see it, *cough* dwarf women *cough cough* :P

Both the male and female worgen look like lions in their faces more than wolves.

Come to Darkfall, we've had the Mahirim race since the beginning.

Does Blizzard have the replicator sight on Aventurine now? Man I can just see the guys at Games Workshop shaking their heads saying "Who will they 'borrow' from next, LOL!?"

Seriously though, it's good to see them still adding races. I know I'd be rolling one of these as a new character if I was still playing.

I still think they should've been more Worgen-like rather than plain ol Worgen with male/female parts...

Darkfall wasn't the first game to have werewolves or dog like races.

While I wouldn't call it  a"Werewolf" race, the Charr race in GW2 might be your dream come true - they are like a mix between tauren and worgen, but wayyyy cooler.

Actually WoW has had Worgen since the start of the game. Just head to the area in and around Shadowfang Keep and you'll see them. Maybe Darkfall simply copied these.

Uh... do you know from Dwarves?  I think that's "by design".  image

"Hot Dwarf women" are right up there with "helpful publishers" as an oxymoron.

Well, I would have liked to see a character design a little more 'primal' and less sexual than the rest of the female models/armor models. But still, it's a new race so I'm not gonna complain!

Wargen (male not female though) might be what actually makes me get cataclysm.. Run through the new 1-60 areas as a new race... Tempting..very tempting..

Actually GW2 does have a "werewolf" type race. They called the Norn which are basically big manly vikings that shapshift and can turn themselves into half wolf. They can also turn half bear, snow leopard and raven. Definately making a Norn and Charr characters mostly because they're the most badass out of the 5 races.

Yeah, the way they tried to add female anatomy to the Worgen just...really didn't work out.  Add to the fact that their faces look more feline than canine.

Not sure where this came from. They look pretty average to me, and fit the body type. If you want smaller, the body would need to be skinnier for it to look right. I'm not sure I want to know where your point of reference is if these are "ginormous".

Boy, after playing AoC and LOTRO for a while now, I forgot how poor and poligonal the WoW graphics really are... This looks rather appaling.

    H8!

It looks alright, fits with WoWs graphics...

Eh, I was more impressed with the landscape screenshots than I am with the Wolfwoman ones. I'm still feeling like it's just not going to be enough for me to get the expansion this time around.
