I play mmorpgs for loot systems similar to Diablo 2 and PreCu SWG. Here are a few Questions; yes or no will suffice:
1. I was wondering if a solo player can go out and kill mobs and get rare items that are worth something?
2. a. Do I need to raid to loot rare items of worth? b. Do I need to raid to loot the best items possible?
3. Does this game use a random number generator for their loot so I don't have the same "badass axe" with 32 str and 2 hp like everyone else in the game?
4. If I like diablo 2 and PreCU SWG looting will I like the loot system this game presents for a solo player?
5. Is there a solid economy for someone who likes the business aspects of MMOs?
Thank you for your time.

Rare items and items of worth may mean different things to different people, and also at different levels. So I'll try to define what *i think* are "items of worth" at what levels and how they are obtained.
Rare items and Items of worth to me mean:
A) Levels 1-40: Blue colored gear. --These can drop from any solo mob at any level. Most group boss mobs will drop 1 guaranteed.
Levels 40-78: Blue gear or green gemmed gear clearly meant for a specific class. --Blue gear can drop from any solo mob at any level, group boss mobs guaranteed to drop 1. Green gemmed can only be crafted. Either you need to train the proper crafting skill, get the mats, and craft them yourself, or buy them from another crafter.
C) Levels 78-80: Culture gear gemmed clearly meant for a specific class. --These can only be crafted. Either you need to train the proper crafting skill, get the mats, and craft them yourself, or buy them from another crafter.
D) Levels 80 (end game): Raid loot gear, or Faction gear with the new expansion pack. --Raid gear can only be acquired in raids. They are class specific and are random. Raid gear is generally agreed to be better than gemmed gear, but not always for every circumstance. Faction gear is of "blue" and "raid" quality. In my circle, it is hotly debated if the faction gear is better or worse than raid gear.
As a side note, once you equip a sellable item, it is no longer sellable. It is now bound to you. All green items are sellable to start with until you equip them. 50% of the blue items are sellable until you equip them, the other 50% bind to you immediately after looting them. Raid and faction gear are not sellable. (sellable = sell to other players, you can always sell that gear to an NPC vendor for a pittance of coin).
------------------------------
As to try to specifically answer your questions:
1 & 2) these question is probably the most difficult and I tried to answer it the best I could above. For me personally, yes, I need to raid in order to get items that I find that are of worth. Note, you cannot sell faction or raid gear to others. I would generally say Yes to question 2a and 2b. This opinion may vary from person to person though.
3) There is no random stat generator that makes different stats for different gear. If you get the "badass axe", it will have the exact same stats as everyone else's "badass axe."
4) In my opinion, no. You will not like the loot system in Conan if that is what you are looking for.
5) I find the economy pretty good. Gemmed gear is pretty in demand, culture gear is very in demand. The "good" gems are fairly in demand but are easier to obtain on your own than culture gear. There is a very, very active market for crafting materials.
------------------------------
Basically, the higher lever you are the more dependent you will become on the community for getting gear. Either in a raidgroup setting for "good" loot drops, or for crafting gemmed gear for your class.
Hope that helps...
***edited section "B" to read "group boss mobs" rather then "boss mobs" to indicate these boss mobs that drop 1 blue guaranteed are to tough to solo***

Thank you for your quick and accurate response. Based off of everything you said, I don't think this game is for me. It seems impossible for me to find the game that has the RNG loot system I'm looking for in a mmo.
There are very very few mmo's that have the RNG loot system.
The problem with an RNG loot system is that it leads to a high level of loot rot. Players really, really don't like loot rot. Now you can defeat loot rot if you have a crafting system where every item in the game can be usefully recycled into the crafting system. However, this only works if items can disappear from the game economy, either through destruction or durability. Everyone but the hardest core of hardcore players really don't like their items blowing up.
Therefore, items can never be lost once a player obtains one. Therefore, one cannot have a crafting system that would otherwise flood the economy by everything being useful. Therefore, one cannot have an RNG loot system.
