Player rating at MMORPG of AoC

I notice that there has been a dramatic change over time on how the players at MMORPG regard AoC according to the game rating

It is now at 8.0 and as far as I rememeber it was down at 7.3 half a year after launch. T

The conspiracy theorist may ofcourse claim that this is done by fake accounts, but I beleive its one of several indicators that the game has improved tremendously since launch.

Ah? Didn't know the grade had improved, never check it for currently live MMO's.

But yeah, the number of AoC flamers, gloaters and doomsayers with their posts have diminished a lot on several sites, compared to how frequent it was before the launch of RotGS.

The game has definitely improved.  My major gripe was the lack of content towards the end of the game.  The beginning to mid I loved.  1-63 or so it was my favorite quest grinder w/world PvP I ever played, but when the content ran out there wasn't much reason to stay.

Now with multiple new areas added before the expansion, raids, expansion content at end game, and everything they have done it has enough content and substance, and IMO it is of great quality.  The new boss fights are amazingly fun and difficult to tackle.  More so than any MMO i've played, and moreso than almost any COOP game i've played.

Now they need to focus on polish and fix little annoying bugs that have been in since launch.  They need to tweak more on the PvP front, and continue to give the game love.  I am really happy with this game right now and plan on playing as my main or side MMO for a long time to come.

It should be noted that the boss fights included open world epic bosses als SWG Kryat style!!!  Awesomesauce.

Would be interessting to see what the rating would be like if you only counted the ones given for the last 6 months.

I bet there are loads of launchplayers that have rated it 0 in every way....

All this AoC love-in affair is getting out of hand. It's great for the fans and its nice to read player's experiences, but there's no need for the "AoC jumps 10places in xfire!" and "AoC's player rating has improved!" type of posts as I think that all life-forms living on Earth have come to terms with the fact that the game Age of Conan has improved!

Play the game, enjoy it while it's got that positive vibe! image

I agree as well. We get it AoC has improved, I almost tried it again myself but decided to go with Red Dead Redemtion instead. I wonder if people are playing this now because its not WOW and its the popular thing to do. To those that are truly enjoying themselves gratz on finding a game you enjoy. To those following the herd since no new MMO's have been launched in a while and are just looking for anything newish I feel bad for you when you go back to the hunt again for a new game in a month once you deplete all of the current content in AOC and hop to another game.

By stating repeatedly that AoC has improved so much its almost like they are trying to justify playing it again since most of them were former AoC bashers. Gratz again to those who are having fun with AoC!

Hey!! image It's at least 2 months image

Kidding, it'll take quite some more time to deplete all content unless you have no job or school - or family - at all to worry about.

The sudden reversal is a bit creepy yes, where a few weeks ago you had to fend off the wolves and bears in any thread about AoC, it's suddenly all bearhugs now.

And thanks, certainly gonna enjoy AoC for the moment while in wait for opcoming MMO's to be released.

Big whoop. They're both worthless for more than just something to say "Hey, look at me!", so it doesn't matter. I bought the original CE at launch, does it bother me that people can buy the fluff items now 2 years later? Not a damn bit. Sorry if you don't feel "special" now.

What do you really expect when this forum was filled with nothing but hate posts for so long? There have been fans that stuck through that from the beginning. If it had failed to improve, they'd still be seeing nothing but that.

I've always liked what AOC was even though I didn't always play. I for one am glad to see some positive information flowing in regard of it. I see nothing wrong with that, people are just getting into the expansion for the most part, lots have still yet to even reach the new content. This will probably continue for quite some time.

I guess it's simply the relief of the AoC community that the game is now much closer to what people who liked the setting and the general gameplay hoped AoC to be at launch. And obviously any MMO pretty much rises and falls with the community - if most people have a positive attitude towards the game it makes the game more enjoyable. My bigger worry is that the current 'hype' atracts people who are looking for a different style of game (AoC is quite unique in many regards and while some appreciate that, others won't like it at all) and that these people will start making a huge fuss about every bug, balance, performance problem etc. pp. that most people who enjoy the game won't mind too much (and there are no huge game breaker around similar to the initial launch).

I'm just downloading the trial. There are a lot of comments hinting that it has improved greatly, and the team behind the game do seem to be actively trying to add things to improve the game right about now, so i think the time is right.

That and i've tried just about everything else and i'm losing hope. :(

I wouldnt worry too much about that. The crowd who regard  zones, directional combat, and themepark as gamebreaking, have tried AoC allready and know that this hasnt changed.

They wont be coming back unless they change their mind on what is gamebreaking or not.

Sorry didn't mean to imply that AoC has only 1 month of content from the Xpac I was refering to those that get an MMO play it 10 hours per day and then complain there is nothing to do and that the game is boring and/or sucks.
