This week's Friday Update for Star Wars: The Old Republic is another triple hitter. The biographies section of the HoloNet has been updated with entries on Darth Malgus (the Sith Lord from the Deceived trailer), Mandalore, and the Republic's General Garza.

A new novel, appropriately titled Deceived, has also been announced today. Deceived focuses on the story of Darth Malgus and is set in the same time period as the upcoming game. The novel will be written by renowned Forgotten Realms author Paul S. Kemp, along with the full cooperation and consultation of both the BioWare and LucasArts teams. You'll be able to pick up the 256 page Deceived at $27 later this year when it launches on December 28th, 2010.

Finally, the "Inhabitants" section has been added to the HoloNet, which features profiles and screenshots on the various species that will populate the game world. The initial batch includes the Trandoshans and Gormak for humanoids, the X2-C3 and AR-34 for droids, and the Gundark and Salky Hound for creatures.

You can view all the new screenshots in our Star Wars: The Old Republic gallery.

Some of those better be player races. :D

Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.

I'm hoping the humoniod ones will be player races while the droids and creatures are pets or companions.
