From the remains of Coruscant...

We will rise...

From the shattered debris of the Jedi Temple...

We will rise...

From the neglected military bases...

We will rise...

From the fires of worlds fallen to the Sith...

We will rise!

From all walks of life, every species from our glorious capital, Coruscant, to the farthest reaches of the galaxy we will rise up against the atrocities of the Sith. We will no longer sit with our hands tied, watching as the Sith devour worlds once loyal to the Republic. No longer will we watch the name of the Republic be stained by the inaction of those who were to be trusted.

No.

We will take action.

Our weapons, our wit, and our very selves are poised to face the Sith and their dark allies. We will take back what is rightfully the Republic's. For we are no longer smuggler, soldier, Jedi... We are Guardians. And as Guardians we will rise to any challenge, face any situation, die for what we believe in. The Republic will live on, and we are her Guardians!

Description:

The Guardians are a Multi-Game Community. More than a guild, more than an organization, we are a family. Our many members make up not only our fine divisions, but also our forum community, as well. We look for Mature Gamers looking for more than just a Guild or Clan, but a second home, a place of security from your real life troubles.

The Guardians, formed in 2001, in anticipation of the game Star Wars: Galaxies, has a long and honorable history. From forming the first Rebel Guild Hall on the Starsider Server in SWG to having the player voted best City on the Server in SWG, to the first Guild through Molten Core on Eredar in WoW, to clearing Carn Dum on Elendilmir in LotRO, The Guardians hope to continue this accomplished history well into The Old Republic

The Guardians is a place welcoming all playstyles and all ages. If you are looking for a Mature Gaming Community that will be taking steps forward into The Old Republic, then look no further than The Guardians.

You will turn to the dark side. No jedi understands the power of the dark side.

Never! I'll never turn to the Dark Side! I am a Jedi, like my uncle before me!

    Hi, Phry!

Agreed, it can be considered a bit early. :p

However, preparing this early is not without precedence.

Some here may remember the long wait between the end of the Ultima Online pre-alpha test that took place in April 1996. Between that time, and the open beta for UO, there was a huge community formed for those waiting for the Ultima Online beta. It wasn't unlike the community posting on the official SW:TOR forums waiting for open beta. In UO's case, there was a popular, player-owned forum called LaWizard's Chat Zone, which also hosted many people waiting for the game.

And throughout all this waiting, many guilds were created. Lots of guild websites hosted by Geocities, Tripod, Angelfire, and home.aol. And there were also some very nicely done websites that looked quite professional. Some guild websites even had their own message boards -- I believe just about all of them used the wwwboard script.

Lots of drama and trashtalking. It made even the worst boards of today look very civilized in comparison.

So where was I? Oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time.

    I kid!

The point is, a game culture was developing before the game was even in open beta. Guilds were formed and recruited. And enough of those guilds survived that their endeavors to create a community and recruit weren't a waste of time. Some of those guilds are still active today.

The Guardians were formed while waiting for Star Wars Galaxies, as were other guilds. Similar to the whole UO culture of waiting and forming communities and guilds.

Now I'm tired and I need to lie down for a little while.

    :D

While it may be a bit early to some people, The Guardians were actually formed a year before the release of Star Wars: Galaxies, over eight years ago. We've grown a lot since then and are looking to expand into The Old Republic and have many, many members excited about this game. (Let's hope it doesn't tank. :D )

Happy eight years, TG! Here's to eight more!

A number of us Guardians have been playing League of Legends as of late and are having a good time, while waiting for SW:TOR. Anyone who would like to play that while waiting for the Star Wars game of our generation, feel free to contact us. :)

Quite a bit has changed since I last posted. We've got several amazing new members, a new SITH division to complement our Republic division, and several of us have hopped on the F2P wagon and are now giving LOTRO a little try.

In the old days of SWG, strictly gameplay speaking, faction gave you access to a boring themepark and a different choice of faction pets.

With SW:TOR however, there will be at least 4-8 unique major storylines to play through with each faction, corresponding to the 4 big classes, and 2 subclasses in each big class. New storylines, new gameplay, and full voiceover to enhance that experience. Most of us gamers are going to want to see how life is on the other side at some point.

So, we've got a little something for everybody.
