Dammit... reading this thread has made me consider resubbing. I have a mid 20's Qalian Shadow Knight, which I picked because it was a strong soloer. I stopped playing because of this wall some of you have spoken of. It gets better in the 30's, eh? Well... I dunno... maybe 1 month couldn't hurt...
If you're out and about on Seradon and you see Arkanos, give me a holler.

Jonrd, send me a tell on Cyrsi, Splinki or Talulabelle. We started up an MMORPG.com guild (link is in my sig) and we have 48 members currently. I'll shoot you an invite if you're interested in joining us. We're called After Hours (you can find us on the Guilds LFM Page "o").
I tested Vanguard for a long time. I even attended an SOE Block Party during the San Diego Comic Con and got to meet the Devs. After reporting about 60 bugs and none getting fixed, I bailed 2 months after it went Live.
3yrs wow its lived that long. Last i checked was at teh 1st xmas after release (almost a year) with a free comeback offer that i had read about on mmorpg.com (no e-mail notification at all about it), so far no e-mails sent out concerning vanguard at all (though i do get e-mails for EQ2, same account). Spoke to several other EU friends who have also never had a single e-mail concerning vanguard.
Want anyone to come back, dont expect oldf players to just take some jumped up word about how improved the game has become. Send out a comeback trial and then see what happens. Yes some will return just to play for free those couple of weeks-a month and some will resubscribe (hell there are alot of people that have become bored of their current subscribed game). These (and i include myself) have lost confidence with SoE and those of us who did buy Vanguard at release and even checked it a few months later only live in hope but will not just pay to find out as it may again be a dissapointement and in these times i would rather spend money elsewhere than to take a veryu risky chance on a flop-(at release).
This is definitely one of the best PvE games I have ever played. It's really unfortunate how the population is dwindling away. SOE really should step up to plate and market the game better, and clearly commit to long-term support and development.
I know one of the main reasons I'm not going back is due to the lack of support and the sense that the game will be axed in the near future.
That's what kept me from resubbing again. I saw that the development team was limping along, completely unable to do all the wonderful things they dreamt of doing for the game, because sony was absolutely unwilling to drop a dime into the game.
It goes unmarketed, underdeveloped and underfunded. It breaks my damn heart, because I love that game so much I can't bear to see it end, but I know it will inevitably die a long, slow death.
I have played VG from the begining. I adore it just as much now as I did then. Levels 26 - 45 were the most fun for me, but if you are in a good guild where communication is given and sought after, you will enjoy every level range! I am on the Xeth server in a guild called TASC and I have yet to run out of things to do. I have 2 level 55's and a level 51 and they all have a full plate still.
If you decide to give this AWESOME game a try and have any questions you can send an in-game tell to me (Keilana / Smyal / Elizajane). I would be MORE than happy to hear from you. If you can't find me in game, you can always contact me via www.vgtasc.com & TASC Facebook!
Downloaded trial and a few days into. This game is an amazing amount of fun. I've spent and entire evening crafting, and another trying to figure out diplomancy. I will subscribe when trial is over.

So glad you're having a good time Thremma! Crafting and diplomacy are pretty cool and as in-depth as Adventuring itself. It's pretty cool. Time consuming but a lot of fun and if you're into stories and lore, diplomacy is definitely the way to go!
They are now selling the game on steam for about 20 bucks, maybe that will help bring more people in as they are also adding items for new players to help them if they buy it from there. I myself am download the trial as before I decide to sub again I want to make sure its still as wonderful as I remember ( I was one of the idiots who bought it the day it was released). It may have been buggy when I got it, but the idea that was behind it was wonderful and the world was so big I loved that. As far as I can tell the only real reasons nobody subs is 1) not enough people and 2) Sony doesn’t care. Well if people would realize that if all those who wont go because there is not enough people would go ahead and start playing than there are more people, than Sony would see more people, which Sony looks at it as “does this make us money for us to care”, well more people that join, the more Sony re-thinks the idea about how much profit it makes (after all, that is the main reason they stick to EQ and such, it’s a money maker.) If wow 1/4th of the people it has now, it would have the same problem Vanguard is having. But hey, this is just my lonely opinion from what little ive read from people talking about it. Guess I’ll learn more after I play the trial some.

Perhaps I need to look into it again.

Or you could follow this thread and see what it is like to play with a population.

Say hello, To the things you've left behind. They are more a part of your life now that you can't touch them.

Crap game is still a crap game. Fire Silius forever and never let him touch any pc game ever again.
