It's been over a year since I last played, but it was definitely alive and populated back then.

Shattered Galaxy has turned out to be a fun mmo. The only downside is (and theres always a downside) that its not true terrotory control - u fight to expand existing factions territories so the player himself doesn actually occupy any land.
