i need a game
wtf so im a marine and i have alot of frickin free time at this stage in my training
so its either i find i game to play on my godly laptop i just bought for that purpose or im gonna spend all my money at titty bars... which are overated after a while
i played uo for 5 years... SB.. daoc they all were coll until they were ruined by the game makers
and WoW looks WAY to carebear for me... i hear pvp sucks... and yeah the mroe i read about no city building and that kinda stuff... i cant play that
I was hoping darkfall would be out by the time i would ge touta boot like it was supposed to but nooo and dark and light looks promising but they wont make their ship date
any ideas??? guildwars looks alright but fuck what the fuck! half o the game is all about quests
i just want a damn city building clan building killer game with no stop pvp actioon
like UO or SB used to be

cause right now WoW looks like my only hope... i might end up playing it just to pass the time even though its got no pvp was wondenri if anyone was in thbe same boat as i am

Blah screw all those fools that say PVP sucks in this game.. I have played almost every MMORPG out there and can tell ya this one ranks with the best... Go in there pushing random keys agianst people if you want to, people like me will eat you up... PVP is everywhere, you can start you own battles all the time... Join a PVP server type /join Worlddefense and just see how many times that channel gets spammed with stuff happening...What ever is getting spammed just find your way there and I assure you you will get more pvp then your probably want.. Im not even going to talk about how it looks I too was thinking like you and listening to people that said it looks to cartoony... But trust me just try it, I promise you will be hooked.
BTW im a former Marine which part of training are you going trough MCT? or I guess a better bet would be your school phase? Either way man you gotta get out cause one thing I loved about the Marines over the army was the duty stations.. You cant go wrong with NC (Lejune) or Cali (Pendleton) either one is full of tric....um women...You just have to get past the Post towns if you know what I mean, they usually do suck.

Yeah I got an idea. Goto general forum and try not to bash the hell out of all of them. Dont understand why someone will bash a game then goto that forum and ask what game is for you.
I am cool with wow. The game hasnt even been out for 6 months yet. Some mmpg are sitting at the 5 year mark.

first of all pvp isnt bad. it can be turned off so you dont get attack by 12 lvl 30 players. it can be fun when you are in higher lvls to go around attacking ppl. its not too bad. as for quests what is wrong with quests. without quests ll the game would be is killing shit to lvl up. that sux trust me i was doing it for GtH beta. WoW is awsome give it a chance

And why did you come to the WoW forum and ask us about other games? do that in general. The opinions we will give you will be biased, because we are WoW players.
I say give the game a try...if you dont like it, you only missed out on a lap dance and a few beers.
Not a bad tradeoff. But i think you got the wrong first impression of the game. Trust me, you will be suprised how good the game is.

I was dissapointed in the "No citybuilding" too, but there is DEFINITLY pvp in this game, that's what WoW is known for. You gain levels really fast so you'll start PVPing in no time. PVP is what made EQ2 lose against WoW
I was kindof dissapointed in no city-building, probably because Ultima Online spoiled me with those kinds of things, and Shadowbane is just too dead to even bother (according to players, it has like 600 people on at peak-time, and they consider that to be alot)
