Is it normal that there is some difference between the preorder bonuses between the APB website and the ones from Steam ?
Particularily, the number of hours you get to play the game. On APB website, there's a 50 hours out of the box plus 10 more hours, early access and the event "Keys of the city".
On Steam, no mention of the 50 hours out of the box (though I guess you get them anyway or at least 30 days), 5 hours for the "key of the city" event (which last 10 days) and 10 hours during the 3 days early access to the game...
Think I'm gonna wait for Realtime Worlds to contact me for their preorder offer...
Steam's offer is basically identical to the one APB has posted, just with more info to the exact limitations of the Pre-Launch and Early Access events.
All the bonus items are identical, though I'll put favor towards that enforcer car being better than the criminal car, though that's more just seeing a 4-door vs a 2-door, 4-door brings more bodies to a fight.
Either way, should be good times, hoping they drop the NDA soon so people can really start talking about it openly to get a better look at how the games gonna do next month.
Lets Push Things Forward
I knew I would live to design games at age 7, issue 5 of Nintendo Power.
Support games with subs when you believe in their potential, even in spite of their flaws.
Any other time and I would do it. BUT, we just bought a new house and are moving in 2 weeks, and also found out that we are having a new baby too... talk about going from poor by choice to destitute, lol
Oh well, good luck to all those who have done the deed!
The PvP was really fun in beta..and I had a blast with that alone. The customization of your avatar down to detailed clothing (for game cash earned from missions)...tat designs and "pimp your ride" capabilities were seemingly endless. It didn't seem like there was much content yet (granted I only played about a week). The stuff available was ok but not too detailed. Breaking into an office to steal an item involved pressing a few buttons in front of a door until the timer cycled through and then a generic item/icon appeared...floating above the ground. You pick it up and ..presto...robbery done. I wish there were more details...like an actual office to break into..skills and searching involved...a safe to crack or a desk to bust open..anything.
The vehicle control is terrible at first...but I think it gets easier to control as you skill up...at least I hope so. So...pvp and graphics are decent. Interaction with more objects would be nice..imo. Customization is superior. Pricing seems fair to me and it does have some potential but to be honest...the multi-player options for GTA on my 360 is more fun and I was expecting this level of enjoyment . Still..I recommend everyone give it a go.
all i get is This item is currently unavailable in your region is this game going to be buyable for australians steam doesnt have it and neither does the ea store..
been waiting for ages for this game not going to be happy if its unpurchasable.
It seems you pay for blocks of hours....and they run out as you use them. kinda of like the minutes work with old school prepay phone plans....or you can pay $9.99 per month for unlimited play. Decent idea as you can pay less than the typical mmo for monthly sub...or...switch to the hour plans and save a few bucks and play a set amount of time...or god forbid...actually use it to control your mmo jones and leave some time for lovers, families and friends.Lol. That's the way I perceive it anyway.
YA I REALLY HATE EA,They did the same thing to WAR, and they will do it again, push good developers/games out the door. But APB/RTW does want to make a hella fun game from what i have seen. its not the usual online MMOG.
In my opinion, the most fun you are going to have in this game is at launch, and possibly for the first month or two afterwards, because there will be a larger variety of players who will all be on the same foot. Beyond the first month or two, the population will drop and the gear gap will be enormous. That means more new players getting put against geared vetrans.
Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.
I've heard rumblings that perhaps the gross shallowness of it's overly redundent game-play and imbalance is a major reason why out of 6000 keys that people signed up for, people that were really interested to assist with beta testing, and only less than 1% are actually interested anymore.
I wonder that, too. I see a lot more people mention the payment model and imbalances, but seems like that's all pretty minor compared to how devoid of content the game seems to be.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.
I'm done with STEAM games. I used to be a huge fan of STEAM, but then I lost my internet access for going on 20 days now ... can I play my STEAM games while I wait for my access to restored? No.
Ever tried to take a 'STEAM supplied' game with you on your lap top when you take a flight? I hope not ... because it would be usless,
Wanna take your laptop on vacation with you so you have games to play at your parents house (who doesn't have internet access)? It aint happening.
Nope ... I have 6 of my most enjoyed games from STEAM, and they are totally useless to me (until I get my internet issues resolved) unless I go sit outside a coffee shop.
Its just stupid to keep perpetuating that. So I've bought my last STEAM game unless its an ONLINE only game.
I was really tough with the game about the payment system. I hadnt played the game. I was wrong to have jumped the gun on the title without accually playing it.. Im not perfect, and though ive done many things in the scene, even i can be shocked. And i am.
This game is Beast for sure!
After playing this beta period, im really addicted. Ive seen situations that just scream fraps...
Chasing someone with a Van full of your guildies and another guildie drives off a ramp and lands on the vehicle we are chasing down... epic.
Sure i think the game has a lot of issues. Its closed beta what could one expect from such a time the games at in development. But there is something special about the game. That keeps me coming back as jaded and as bored as i have been with the whole cookie cutter genre.
Get a beta key off the net and download the game and check it out for your self. Or sit on a forum and play the flavor of the month whine-A-thon game..
Your time...
Now there isn't any NDA material in what Ive said here. These issues are Viewable by anyone.
Uhm....you CAN play your steam games offline LMAO ....when you try to launch steam it will try to connect a few times and when it fails just click the button that says "Offline Mode"
Yet another case of somebody who opens their mouth to trash something before researching the problem, asking questions, or actually LOOKING for a solution
much like many of you who post here...mmorpg should just edit all your posts to say "user opened mouth and inserted foot" ..basically all your doing lol.
Just to let some of you know this aint really Pay to play o_0 the company didnt even say it was going to be like that at all.But i will buy this game it looks great, hope that they patch the game and what not seems like something you'd need to keep updating and what not.
I am in the beta and will be subbing when it comes out. To all those trashing this game because its not what you wanted or hoped it would be, feel free to move on. It is odvious some of you don't know what you are talking about and are bashing this game off of speculation or what you read in a forum. To me, THIS GAME IS FUN and that is all that matters as far as I'm conscerned. Out of all the games I have played ( see sig) this is the only one that doesnt put me to sleep.
To those who have played it and all you did was run around solo doing missions, well you are missing out on the best part of this game as with almost all mmos, playing with a group. As was stated in an earlier post there have truely been some EPIC moments in this game and nothing beats rolling 4 deep with a crew laying waste to the city.

I wonder who would order this, most likely a teenager kid who uses his savings. But for the educated consumer would never pre order this pile of FAIL.

A very shitty game that only had pvp, it was like guild wars just sucked muuch more, had no PvE, there was a lobby and battlegrounds pretty much.
Currently Playing Path of Exile
^ Im not saying guild wars sucks btw, i enjoyed that game actually, and waiting for GW2.

My last post was for Zinderin
And all of you comparing APB to Fury is like me trying to compare Bad Company to Legend of Zelda....wtf people.
Play this game before you buy it ... trust me dont toss your money away without trying it.

The Brave Do Not Fear The Grave
IMO GTA multiplayer "Cops and Robers" mode was far better.
This game disappointed me. Wouldn't even play for free.
~Awesome Tr!x
Its a decent game, get in a group of competent players and you will have alot of fun.
